    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
3 A6 i+ |# @$ `( _    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
: ^6 z6 I4 g; y* s    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators; F# d% c9 W" q8 a+ M8 ?; k% m
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations% R. U$ O* D# `6 C
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
; N, E& Z5 f4 j' U9 g/ _+ ~    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
" ^- T* o3 v3 H$ v    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth9 q4 N8 g5 c, u2 s% l
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program* N/ m4 B3 Z  p6 a+ F7 S: [% D2 Z
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment$ \  |4 W0 U0 i* }( Z
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports

    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly% \  e# y8 l3 y' Z
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
* K( z0 Z7 L- Z; z) l* F) y* J    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

5 p  ?$ s! c. p' O$ q5 m4 T    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
/ D5 ]1 G+ e3 t5 l& z: f    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth0 b! l- I" y: x, j. \& f& B/ C
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
6 [5 n2 e" A3 k3 i( t    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs) Z6 N' a, p, V" G' u: v
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
" N3 v0 P1 V5 `1 I; s  c    * Fundraising skills an asset
) Q& W8 _3 S9 q# ~    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills/ K; E0 {8 ^) \3 h
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills' ]6 {( }) g! f
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills# i5 ?+ |7 \$ A
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
