8 Y+ d; R% i  Y9 q' X5 v3 J0 M    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
& j/ P1 t1 T3 ]    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
5 I6 ?8 l7 H4 q: {    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
/ z2 D* _& s3 `: ~* z) |5 ?% }    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
% L4 Q% G( n: i8 Z4 j    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
1 l; @5 T. P, r- ~, ?    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
4 E- u& o, C/ _8 [    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications

' D) [* r, U  T# d% e1 K    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
$ Y* D8 N4 ~/ s& y! `  Z, h' G    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
" }! v* q2 ]# y1 L4 V! i    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
6 y; b" g6 p; }3 A2 F+ X. X( l    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
    * Fundraising skills an asset
- t5 ~/ L! a: B6 A8 {" r/ w- M9 [& i    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills

; S) e5 }3 W+ g    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
