* Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
8 y/ T$ ^8 `5 p" B- t# o: I * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group

7 y. B1 E: W# W0 N; V * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations

* Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth- p5 ]2 e3 m; \) H$ t& _: [& n8 A
* Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
?& a8 J) U1 S) ^2 l * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment

* Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

Qualifications; L3 d8 ^3 p3 s' T: W6 M6 C
f x3 F# v, s2 ~! l7 `. `2 C- V
* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
5 |& }! z3 T' N) ?+ {7 W* C# S * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
1 `0 d& w, n" |8 P6 _ * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
, ^$ |+ K# ]8 Z0 v4 V * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs F+ ]/ i& Z5 c+ ]( X9 x# r% m
* Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
