4 @9 i9 q0 l6 p( a; EContext: Edmonton Immigrant Services Association is a nonprofit immigrant serving agency. The New Neighbours Program provides services aimed at facilitating the settlement/integration of newcomers into Canadian society.

" D, b! g7 a7 k0 ?Key responsibilities: overseeing the day-to-day activities/operations of the program; recruitment, training & supervision of volunteers for the program; recruitment/orientation of participants; matching newcomers with community volunteers & monitoring the matches; planning other program activities; maintain computer dBase record of services/activities.4 U6 K" ~/ F3 A' G* J
X6 s) C" O( ]7 f* XPLUS: act as a resource person; fulfill program accountability requirements; collaborate, network with other organizations /professionals liaison with ethno-cultural & immigrant community organizations; represent EISA at meetings and functions related to the program.

Key Qualifications - Degree or Diploma in social work, social sciences or related areas. > Special requirements include: 2-3 years experience in program coordination; excellent interpersonal/communication skills, cultural sensitivity; knowledge & experience in volunteer management; good knowledge of available community resources/services. ; v: i/ D) j: R
6 b( G3 p8 _ rPLUS: demonstrated computer skills in MS Excel, Access, internet & dBase management programs; experience working with immigrant families and/or settlement services, community development or non-profit org. an asset. ; U# h$ T4 w0 T/ Q& L( C
