* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis- P ^$ \( [; ^; v+ j2 X, ~5 ^
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
9 o1 W7 n9 J7 B; N# R * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques' T+ Q6 e8 ?- O" ]
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client9 i3 M9 g9 o( ]& `
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry6 |4 T7 N' |( u5 `
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals8 ^( W- W) w3 a
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab6 t0 u% v4 j/ K1 c
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices9 ?. Y, t2 b* y; u" R. p
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)5 M* e2 l/ x0 e

* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred& W q/ n4 g( ]" C
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
3 N5 x& \1 }% a5 M* k' {4 F# q9 Q * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
. g3 X, v# D, D1 Y' s. ?- X# M * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
