* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
3 {; v: K3 D1 K. ` * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography7 `* j8 H$ N8 m- x6 x# C0 e
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques P. n& n0 ]8 w, N" f! M
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client, T+ C" `, t: V/ ~7 e: L
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
7 N! K& W4 G# a5 I2 L- H6 f * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals

* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices$ ]2 F2 g! s9 T
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)' [. m( e' s) i) m" Q

' I/ n2 g- x/ P* L: A * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
0 r( L$ P& X+ C# ~! D# V * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
* C3 P* K0 I* x: t6 X * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
& k0 x" n# N2 ?3 j( I7 r. n * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
, m0 ~% a# V6 m( _7 A! A! F1 m * Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment
