Interior Designer

PURPOSE:

specifications of commercial-grade office furniture and systems products.

requirements within allotted time and budget constraints. This position reports

2. Performs programming, space planning, furniture selection, layout, casework,
4 _& J% j5 s* L+ [; ` s, _! wproduct pricing, design and selection of fabrics and finishes, includes as-built. f% K7 Y, N w. P; v! i+ M
drawings, block plans, space plans and finished working drawings for% x& C* l2 q3 J# a* c# I; y8 o! ]
specification and installation.9 R9 x" W- s8 ~; A
3. Provides professional customer interface by attending client planning; X% S/ C0 l; |! c
meetings to determine furniture needs and develops solutions to meet these) G- a3 _* F) h: ]+ A. L: Z
needs.
8 P- [, |2 A% a( W, M4. Offers technical design and creative consultation to customers by answering
! y+ P, {4 [) E2 }5 p3 Rroutine and highly specialized questions regarding furniture systems.4 i; J' P: Y0 p6 X, D$ z
5. Coordinates, develops, and reviews proposed project designs and construction
% Y/ M7 A) ^ C% rplans. Prepares presentation material including color finish boards. Reviews job* [# D7 u* T: A' O# _6 f* i' ]
site in order to perform accurate measurements. Will do plan-to-site adherence
& s2 \) [( X% z! w( c% D) l# pchecks.
1 k0 ^% m; V1 V* @6. Validates plans against construction, electrical engineering and Architect4 [6 n; R* T. Y1 b: X( j
& Design (A&D) drawing sets.
; o9 D5 M! l* e% q6 r7. Develops project specifications, double checks specifications against plans,
9 G/ X- n' W) l! ^; y' lassures specifications are ready for order entry (SIF file), and manages changes6 A2 A+ y4 d, Y5 o' \
and revisions.
2 n2 Q' S Q6 ?1 E3 i% k5 E8. Verifies the company design standards have been met. Provides on-site job
2 {% j, V# i: @9 @+ N6 `* einspections comparing construction drawings to final build-out.1 { u% b# ]4 d8 B8 e) w; O7 k
9. Tracks, records and ties design hours to specific projects for job costing.: t- [' y9 v) t b( e
10. Works with installers to ensure installation meets customer specifications.# M, V! j& u# W7 D! U3 Q& j2 a
11. Participates in work-in-progress (WIP) and open order backlog review

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

& Y( l/ q1 A: wBachelor’s degree in Interior Design with a minimum of two (2) years in a
" d' B5 I/ f7 @/ x' @/ }* urelated field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and% {5 N6 L6 t& p; B0 k2 A& t! @
experience required. Prior experience in office furniture industry, general m6 _8 ~2 S; x& k/ E+ C$ `
knowledge of systems furniture, and experience in customer interaction required.: N6 T- g# @6 Z. j

Experience with furniture design and specification software required.
