* t9 z8 ^5 H' v9 ^! x; M, mContext: The Edmonton Waste Management Centre of Excellence is a not-for-profit organization with projects in research, training & technology development in waste management. The position is based at the Wastewater Research & Training Centre, located at Edmonton's Gold Bar Wastewater Treatment Plant. The hourly rate will depend on qualifications and experience.

Key responsibilities will include: reception functions at the WRTC; receive visitors & respond to general inquiries; help ensure facility security and safety policies are applied. 0 r1 ]5 ~1 T5 A% c- [5 h

F2 c7 z' S& A$ f% |Administrative functions: update documents, dBases, directories; arrange for mail & courier services; document copying, printing, scanning, faxing; check general electronic mailbox/forward inquiries; update & maintain filing system; assist with committee/staff meetings; take & distribute minutes; schedule meetings, book room, send out agenda, order refreshments.

; V; t1 W" k2 Q# f9 w$ {" z& ?PLUS: assist with Hosting of Delegations/Tours; maintain inventory of promotional material at Gold Bar; compile information packages for visitors to the Centre; book meeting rooms, tours busses & order refreshments; handle room set-up, housekeeping, provision of supplies & invoicing for services provided.; O0 M' x7 H0 @) |. ^4 E+ J5 s' ~
/ [/ c/ L8 y( E# r+ F* NIn addition: assist with Organization of Technical Seminars, Training Courses and other Events; book facilities, arrange for shuttle services, arrange catering & supplies; confirm speakers, accept/compile presentations; handle registration of participants, invoicing/payments; train & oversee facility users on operation of A/V equipment.0 J) j. L7 l: d a8 mThe ideal candidate will have: a high school diploma, proven work experience in general office administration and an interest in working in a not-for-profit organization with a focus in the environmental field; an Office Assistant Diploma will be considered an asset. & ]5 y2 `0 ^7 o2 H

You are a self-motivated, highly organized and flexible individual with strong attention to detail. You are a good communicator with effective interpersonal and teamwork skills. You are able to multi-task and are skilled in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). ' d$ \/ w4 p* U( D& R* P: R" c
7 V3 `, z$ @0 l7 b8 f' }4 ]+ qPLUS: You must possess a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License and supply your own vehicle for business use as required. You will be reimbursed in accordance with the Centre's car allowance policy. On-site parking is provided.* D. [/ o6 U& V
