& U# [/ t1 d, z% F# ~* V1. Chemical list and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s)
$ S% }# O6 `) @' J3 R" N- o• help complete up-to-date chemical lists for all laboratories within the department
2 \6 X( B% o* j) F! G- u• collect and obtain MSDS’s for all chemicals A% k- n+ l/ N
• make sure all chemicals are properly labelled and stored
1 c( m( q) ]. C• proper disposal of all unwanted chemicals, H& ~, P4 d+ ?# W
• finalize chemical lists and then duplicate and label all MSDS’s for distribution to OH&S for the MSDS on line system.$ v$ {/ l: K+ j- C
* D) _6 @- _, ^$ Q( `7 R# A2. Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) and Hazard Assessments (HA’s)
+ A- |6 s8 {5 b' H) B" ?7 z• help update the department SOP’s and HA’s. This will include verification of existing SOP’s and HA’s and tracking any that are needed.- v% H1 @( m" z5 }

3. Tracking System
) ?% Q1 B" E0 `4 g7 ?8 g0 Q. O• help develop a tracking system for adding or removal of chemicals as well as continual updating and verification of SOP’s and HA’s 1 d' B8 M( I0 @2 V
: v& O( U+ R) LCandidates should be inquisitive, thorough, and willing to learn. Some education and/or experience in safety is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment are required. 8 a( k. Y3 i% W7 s; D, Y) k& d8 \* o

This is a two-month summer position, preferably commencing the middle of June, which will pay an hourly wage commensurate with education and experience. Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening.
