Position Title: Receptionist/Immigration Services Worker

- answer multi-line phone calls professionally, politely and directing the calls correctly.& V' I6 V$ J9 L& v: Y7 K7 c
- assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker
/ j+ i4 ]4 U2 r* O2 d- reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team

- post secondary diploma

- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community& H9 t0 ]: r3 l4 [8 O' D
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services. [/ Z1 N6 d8 O9 [# S
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services7 `3 X+ X1 }# K2 h) A8 I
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
# b0 f9 |# x; b- x- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
7 b0 N# G) M; M4 P" |6 W" n- update ASSIST website
6 y, \& A$ i; [4 |& Y- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre' i. Y% l5 |5 ]! [! s# N! P- k6 b# v
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services8 e* f( M1 S; t1 F. J
- assist in writing proposal for ISP8 V3 @% i j# ~8 K0 W: p* S& a
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time6 w4 y4 B* @: J8 p

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications3 c2 k2 m1 J8 c* d! J
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
( I2 y7 {* q5 w$ y; f: f. Z- good oral and written Chinese and English skills' f4 d9 ?! o7 |. L2 [2 b* M3 L3 u
- experience in community work and immigrant services
+ Y6 z$ u3 |- u* T6 R# G- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
