Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) at ASSIST Community Services Centre is currently seeking flexible individual to fill the following two positions:

Position Title: Receptionist/Immigration Services Worker

- answer multi-line phone calls professionally, politely and directing the calls correctly.
3 s1 }! J3 u. G- G- assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker' l7 a* F& W+ v$ n7 G1 }0 K/ ?
- reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team

- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset' g) D- W9 G& Q

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
3 D; j+ b. a0 Y4 R- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services& I5 m/ q8 m6 |/ V8 R3 J
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
0 A K4 f7 W( ^$ @( j- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
- v* s% u& o% c- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
: S) L5 O& e; H1 a3 T. `- update ASSIST website
# M3 l- b8 J& A! B5 X) Y- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
* |" I/ J& B3 t ^& h) l- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
* X/ j: ]6 O7 @% y6 Y2 u5 P- assist in writing proposal for ISP
7 l6 `% ^9 q: P3 U- write quarterly and final reports for ISP
8 ~6 C) } H z( k- hold regular meetings with ISP team; P* J b8 p5 [" J4 x
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
% W, E6 c+ x& ^6 [1 F4 n- update membership database
" G9 `, h; f2 J( G6 k- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)3 R. F, j3 G% E0 i2 X, O
1 S% m g) ^, pQualifications
8 p% Q/ e2 ]5 R/ `; }- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
! T8 H7 K7 e( B7 L2 _- good oral and written Chinese and English skills# x0 N O3 e7 @7 Z( a
- experience in community work and immigrant services5 k4 p: e' a' R+ T3 `
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset3 j! e" S* U- l& Q8 w. }
