The Lunar New Year Firecracker Parade, hosted by the Chinatown and Little Italy Business Association, takes place on Saturday. 4 w! ?/ ]0 S7 u! `& c# ~
- The festival kicks off at 11:30 a.m., with an opening ceremony outside the Pacific Rim Mall at 9700 105th. Ave. From 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., lion dancers, dragon dancers and traditional Chinese musicians will move north along 97th Street, visiting shops and restaurants throughout Chinatown, setting off firecrackers. 4 L1 h, P) F) Z A$ `) I# B
: v5 G* n& ]9 H2 A& z) s7 I: ]: M- The Money God, who bears a striking resemblance to retired city councillor Michael Phair, will be there, handing out red envelopes to lucky children.
