As the Corporate Financial Co-ordinator within the Corporate Accounting and Reporting office of the Finance Branch, you will lead the year-end reporting functions within the City as well as the operating fund corporate accounting, and guide the development of related policy, procedures, and strategies. This includes:. d$ z5 }8 w4 ^6 E

· Coordinating the completion of the annual consolidated financial statements, the Provincial municipal information return, and other financial reporting for audit.

· Providing advice within the organization and to related Boards and Authorities on options for resolution of financial and reporting issues.; h! x* e( D7 v( Y! b

· Administration of the financial accounting module of the financial information system.

· University Degree majoring in accounting or finance, and a Professional Accounting Designation., D5 l4 A' @' a9 a+ G& }
9 h/ F1 T5 x) Q1 W4 Z& s· A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in the financial accounting and reporting field.

· Experience with complex computerized financial systems. Familiarity with SAP would be advantageous.( X ^6 l' j! s Y- O
* \, O+ Z: `# s! a8 s· Experience in preparing complex, consolidated financial statements for audit.

9 O% r0 d+ x3 F5 z! Z· Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

· A thorough knowledge of municipal accounting and reporting practices and standards.

w- z( M. [2 y' S* I: j· An understanding of the Municipal Government Act (MGA) and of commodity tax in a municipal environment would be of benefit.

SALARY RANGE:
