Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community2 _+ p8 Q% p+ I' b0 p. A @$ a7 L
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
% ]$ a* K, @6 l7 K7 l5 g! Z7 u- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services9 @$ U/ E1 ?. t7 G4 j
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies9 h# e" d+ }9 f6 @8 h8 \" t# k" P
- coordinate good will activities

- submit information for community news * v# v" r8 c6 s$ ?$ ^+ Y
- prepare and send AGM information to members1 k4 c: L! ~% _8 f; q* d
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services, ?& j1 k! I) a( d3 u
- assist in writing proposal for ISP
# n/ o) o8 X7 f; i. h- write quarterly and final reports for ISP
# [% S8 t) T: T- explore new ideas for ISP / l7 w3 j# X8 k
- hold regular meetings with ISP team" y& G: E5 {: _5 u# s
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time0 P- s; N1 b$ B8 f- o5 `
- update membership database- J0 K9 \6 }* x0 W9 G: o
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
; `% [: l7 m4 d" a5 a: v- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education 2 ^; }8 T% ^8 z
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
( o/ ?" b& S2 G f- experience in community work and immigrant services" I# H5 O' m0 J# g! {+ G5 e: N
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
