Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. 7 @# r0 b* T& B* v5 _: _

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community, a) \2 I$ z6 C$ c
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services; g; j6 ]$ j% ]# D* x4 T! `
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services& B5 B s# z" T& Q, Z" C4 t
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
+ ^* ~2 `4 N3 p1 I0 u+ i- q- coordinate good will activities# u. d4 y L8 j& S1 J7 V) U
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members* l' w6 ?3 R; E) |* `/ X' g; X7 z
- submit information for community news
* ~' t' C# v+ C5 ^# \; V% h, M- r" v3 F- prepare and send AGM information to members7 x9 y- ~4 ~0 r5 D l% Y
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- update ASSIST website' b! c! r V+ X( I/ e1 P3 G
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre, X# R2 Y# A9 |9 X( B0 v6 e8 S
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
. ^8 L- n- U2 P. R/ E- assist in writing proposal for ISP8 E. Z' s' h* I
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- hold regular meetings with ISP team% F, `- @. ?" ~$ ]+ ~: s
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

9 v" {8 Y) a k4 @" m3 o" E- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
( U7 z( l8 M% N: k. u: H9 |0 |5 c- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
) n# p8 B {/ G3 ^/ @6 r- experience in community work and immigrant services
7 ~9 {- }. n# L6 {* X( ]- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
