Job Description

•        reports directly to the Board of Directors
: z1 r3 Q8 P; q4 `. J. n2 ]7 k( }•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals
/ R2 V  [6 s4 g4 K( h; a3 d2 R•        is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board# }1 z  \/ C* P* [+ _" h0 Z8 P' m
•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation: X# p* j0 t( ?/ l4 X, j3 q

3 J( u) e1 }! b•        is accountable for effective administration of agency
2 q3 v7 \8 G5 P5 [; t•        is accountable to meet community expectations and funders’ requirements
$ s9 `1 R. H7 l•        develop/review and administer operational policies and procedures1 g% i! o2 @; g. p
•        development and management of the programs budget" U" G; [+ ]( ?5 b9 r. W. i
•        develop, implement and manage operational and programming budgets

Staff) i5 X+ _$ z, M# V$ r8 d
•        responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff5 y4 i, C* W( h5 Z
•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers' K( N1 {$ |9 x5 Y- a7 n0 k
•        provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions+ {* C$ w- A% A3 |' r
•        monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators
& I0 m* r5 r8 L5 t& e. \  f•        provide opportunities for staff development and growth9 W1 k. G/ }% `
•        meet with staff on regular basis# f% \" P! _6 N& L( t
•        build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff4 t! e, e# m( |. L) g+ @

. @, o# K! E$ b+ ~8 f* UPrograms/Services
6 @8 |) J5 b! N3 W* D6 j' {1 K1 I•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services
+ v0 d0 `( K' i, R2 Q+ I•        design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities8 G" ?' y- T1 ?/ n. f
•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders
: i' T  B1 J! S$ b; g•        set program priorities and directions - b( G: L7 m0 S; D0 N  [; l
•        identify community and user needs and trends
  D; ]: U: }$ p, F. u•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends# s* b) o2 z7 P6 N9 w& X4 W! L
•        conduct program evaluation/survey/research
9 g" g' m6 h! N* _- b•        maintenance of appropriate reporting
/ D2 \) Y3 ]# e* |7 i* h9 d•        delivery of program or activity to participants as required
* z' r. ]' v. j) e1 M& X" U•        build on knowledge of community resources in program development
7 y) Q* Y" j7 s0 r! l$ p•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others

) v! \1 \8 j$ m7 SExternal Relations/ Q: x5 m0 r! `% F2 ^; a
•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities
7 g" ]& c- D2 r. P) d3 H4 P•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders8 O/ P1 V8 \) G% P
•        communicate the value of the organization to the public
. u( q5 m1 b0 @7 \8 U1 \•        identify community needs and trends" l% r- ~7 ~) b6 @1 {
•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups
" H1 M8 A# ~2 J+ C•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups
0 {. R7 Z* _8 M9 z7 F•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.
0 M1 ~. c) K3 z6 g' r6 D•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff' c$ n* C0 Y, G7 n: |7 u

3 Z4 ?+ [  v0 j# S( [6 Q% ?/ e, OQualifications. K/ J) C0 i! E- O% Y! {7 ?" s
-        University degree in a related field; + Q& s: g: I* E4 I- v3 Z
-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;/ S3 D& U% m: W% g" `
-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management;
/ v  u0 Z; T# s/ c* X-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization
4 f4 c. z0 C3 P, W0 j9 _' j5 A! g" [" S% ]
Salary! q  W8 V6 z; H: E& f8 T
-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits
( U2 C- e4 E5 l3 D+ t% D6 x" l& |, z2 P/ E2 x, ]0 n
