Want your kids to learn Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) and stay in touch with Chinese culture?

Our Chinese School is the only school that teaches Chinese in the local Fort McMurray community. Students will progress well in a group study environment. Brand new textbooks are introduced this year.

The Chinese School runs every Sunday from 2pm - 4pm at Father Patrick Mercredi Community High School in Thickwood area. New and returning students are welcome for another year of learning Chinese language and Chinese culture.

公立学校不教中文吧，这个中文学校是华人社区办的，很正规。

借问一下，Sudbury那里有中文学校吗？是否有好的经验可以借鉴一下。

& i: ~+ \6 u9 h$ _! _据我所知，Sudbury没有中文学校，因为我没有听到过任何有关中文学校的消息。

仔细想一想，没有中文学校也在情理之中。一是中国家庭少；二是孩子的年龄差距太大：有的孩子已经结婚生子（在外地，1/10），有的孩子大学毕业工作了（2/10），有的孩子在上大学（2/10），剩下的孩子年龄分布在刚出生到12年级（比例只是根据聊天中获得的信息估计得到）。我女儿上八年级，与她年龄相差2岁以内的只有2-3个，她的学校只有她一个中国孩子。她教她的同学转手绢、唱中文歌、说中国话。

Sudbury的中国家长还是很注重孩子的中文学习，但是目标不高：对于加拿大出生的孩子只求能够听和说；国内上过学的还勉强能要求一下读中文，写就不想了。大家的中国情结还是很浓。Sudbury决定在市政府旁边的桥两边树立移民来源国的国旗，资金来源于各社区，中文社区的捐款远多于需要的资金，最后决定剩余的资金作为今后的维护费。

希望女儿来这里以后能够加强中文。

这里的中文学校课堂上教中文，但是孩子们之间讲英文比较多；觉得孩子学中文也需要父母在家里多抓一下才行啊。
