the logistical organization and smooth rental of the additional

2. Marketing and Promotion' M5 _' J% n, F
r T% H+ J& p: Wa. To develop and implement a marketing plan for the venues that : e# k* \2 Y* V
focuses upon advertising and promoting the venue to faculty, 8 _8 M, |) p. E# X2 [
students, and internal and external clients on an on-going basis. 6 c7 q0 n9 V% v( M
This strategy will include implementing and/or delegating the following:
& }! q& K/ f$ Z4 D8 B9 P: I3 c$ t· To develop and maintain promotional materials, the Horowitz
( h- ^( |7 |' B; X! e; ?" ?Theatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to
3 p7 G% T3 r. Ztake advantage of other internal and external advertising
9 K- B9 c8 v+ z- e5 W5 ?8 mopportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional - }0 T- ~, V' i$ ]8 W
literature on an ongoing basis.
, i7 k* l$ E& |' T· To coordinate tours of the venues for potential renters.

use of the Horowitz Theatre Home Page and the SU Events Calendar.

3. Staff and Supervisory Roles and Responsibilities. U* R, o+ D( J* i: p6 i

a. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost-
! l" `+ N! Z' |2 r$ s- F, Heffectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the - |5 I0 Z5 v9 `- B) n8 `
venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and
" P; C! k& n4 H$ R; L0 jcontribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of
6 i/ y7 A* C3 ?+ [the renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited - a f+ M/ C' a) G6 J
to, the following:) x& [3 y l4 M5 B+ Z9 `2 t
· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues . N& j" \) V b3 j7 N2 r, E7 ^
and Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining,
8 v6 m9 K+ e: k& o% Uevaluating and terminating, as necessary.
# Z0 W: j0 [& Y& O To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at ' ?% Q' u. a2 t, J0 R# \
all times, this includes the development and implementation of such
4 T {3 u) B/ I9 P* L! [schedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and
; F# F j! X' M' x0 e& Jcost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it B0 J. o& q" B$ v$ ~
is in operation or needs to be in operation.5 K4 t' b5 ^" l, \8 V1 p1 |
· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure
+ ?" X4 z6 Z1 \that an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to 5 }5 C7 ^# i& t
facilitate the smooth operation of the venues and to ensure all & q4 ^. Y. }/ F& [) N" H
renters needs are met., F+ U* I! M% W, D G
· To work with the Technical Director to ensure that the skills - h4 P1 _1 {0 t! Y2 i
and attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of
2 A( n6 B+ T' ythe roles they must perform. This includes providing adequate and : J& o5 o) E# F
effective training (and re-training) in all applicable and
* V* U) }2 U3 t( h3 R0 }$ jappropriate areas, and ensuring that the Policy and Procedures manual + R% X2 F% m. G! y
is kep up-to-date at all times.

· To work with the Technical Director to arrange staff

· Working with the Manager of Facilities and Operations to ensure

· Working with the Manager of Programming and Venues to ensure

systems and processes utilized by or within the venues meet the , d6 m! r8 U2 u1 ]- ~" B

includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following:

· To manage the venues in a manner which adequately and effectively 2 Y2 X2 ?/ @3 e9 M1 `
reflects the budgets approved for the venues and/or which reflects

· To function as the key player in the submission of financial and

compilation of monthly and annual financial statements, and such

with all financial and administrative procedures, with the SU´s

aimed at improving the financial and/or functional effectiveness of

· To ensure the existence of adequate, effective and accurate job

setting of appropriate prices for rental and staffing rates for 6 L7 w2 d x2 ?
events held in the Horowitz Theatre.

the billing clients, and to forward such documentation in a timely ' o# h2 X- g# {5 y1 {
manner to the Accounting Department.

6 a+ y, |0 {) P, c3 aand administrative procedures and systems in a manner which reflects

a. To ensure, at all times, that the systems and processes used in

needs, and contribute to the smooth operation and success of the 8 h, P, u, K7 x7 p3 k4 u9 {
venues. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:! E0 B3 k2 F7 J& V! T

· To recognize, develop and set in place such rental procedures as
4 Z7 b% i( D! zmay be necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the venues, this

* T3 P& W! R/ a; Kin the areas of contracts, inventory management, contract evaluation, 8 @+ D7 ~2 U1 k
pricing, costing, equipment usage, rental/contract invoicing, f& b7 S |5 n' h
together with such other systems and procedures as may be necessary $ z0 b" L6 f" B: B& K5 M0 x
to ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and
6 T* a) V) q9 E r( t& E" d$ j1 Ufunctionally-effective operation of the Horowitz Theatre.& z3 s% X7 A1 k' B. h- z& F( y
· To recognize, develop and set in place such operational procedures
' Z" x/ `- i5 t3 T: v. r Pas may be necessary to ensure the smooth, efficient and cost- 1 }; \7 D6 K- X- `
effective operation of the venues.5 x6 x% I8 D* e; ]5 }" a% y
· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to
' f. ~ i4 p h9 c9 q+ |dates, rates, staff and miscellaneous charges.( H9 W: K* Z4 ]8 k
· To ensure that adequate inventory is available at all times and ! K5 G( Z3 b$ A- K( [: }
that such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways.
& q6 p' L2 R3 E5 E· To consult with renters as to facility issues in producing their " r) d) \- i$ Z% C* d
particular event in the venues.# a; U1 s5 {5 S3 b* N* U
· To provide the venues on-site staff with such documentation and : X% |. ?- G4 D$ R
supporting information as it may need to effectively fulfill the 9 F- ~9 ?0 x0 a8 S# g8 c+ O: I
roles they are to perform to ensure the success of the renter´s event.
1 ~$ U* X1 c n8 X U, b: d. e* U! I8 y· To produce quotes in respect to staffing costs for a particular
4 Y5 K# U$ Y$ d6 v# w2 Hrental with consultation with the Technical Director.$ Y8 j' H8 I7 o; Q Q3 y
· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the Y& E$ r* y+ `2 m) M
SU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately " Z! g, J( X8 N( C5 z( h% p6 w2 a
answered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in
/ p* H& I6 e* [% ufollow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.
4 [4 u' ~* l7 O3 A1 } To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately, % h+ l6 Z; k9 h% J9 O
effectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that
' K: f2 d9 ~0 h! t% I0 u0 ethe cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision
1 q0 r% \- k" x; @- ~% W6 f3 }# t* Ymade for them unless prior approval is given by the Manager of
. n0 x7 X2 \; E! t+ l: YProgramming and Venues.
+ R" L& @5 ~. T7 e6 H· To act as an informed and knowledgeable resource in the case of
7 Q+ t3 `% _! s& {+ g7 A, V' Lsignificant challenges and/or problems surrounding the tasks of
+ Z' B9 C7 s. N# \( q* r9 gmarketing, administration, operations, and any such other matters as
8 D5 k" d5 S8 u! a6 wmay provide such challenges and/or problems.

secure operation of the venues.

operations in a manner which reflects the requirements of the SU´s

Administration, and in a manner which contributes positively to the

QUALIFICATIONS:
