The most precious gift

I have owned a necklace for five years. It is a golden, slender, lovely style necklace my sister gave me when she left China for the United States. Whenever I wear it, I always believe my sister and I are not far away from each other.

My parents have three children. My sister is the eldest child in my family. She was aware of the power she had to control my brother and me, so she usually demanded us to do something we disliked. Because I am just two years younger, sometimes I wanted to resist her orders. So we often fought with each other while we were teenagers. Unfortunately, every time I was defeated by her and had to follow what she requested of me. At that time, I was looking forward to growing up quickly and gain the power to exceed of her.

Finally, I grew up. Now things are different. While I was studying at university, my sister married and had her small family. When I began to work in my hometown, although we were living in the same city, we didn’t have enough time to stay together. But gradually, I found my sister turned into a gentle, affectionate woman. She was deeply concerned about my career, my marriage and what I thought. We have never been so close. She cared for me in many ways, such as how to select clothes, how to find out the personality of my boyfriend…..She was willing to give me something she thought I might like. Happy days were not to last long because my sister decided to immigrate to the United States. Before she left, she bought me this special necklace that would be the most precious present I have ever received.

Sometimes we only value things when we have lost them. I am lucky not to neglect the intimacy of my sister, knowing she is always with me, which is deep and indestructible. It gives me warmth and courage, wherever I am.

　　July **, 1996, a beautiful and shining day I always remember. It was

exactly the date when my dearest daughter was born. Although I had to

put up with the pain and suffering at that time, I was still eager to see my

little baby. In the last ten months, she was part of my body. Every pulse,

every quickening made me a sweet feeling because I had known a little kid

was comletely depending on me and being close with me. Absolutely

trusted by a little infant, I was so proud of being one great mother. Since

that date, I realized I would be not only a wife but also a mother. Focusing

on a new life and taking all responsiblity while her growing up, will be hard

for me. Without any hesitation yet, I was willing to devote all my life to my

deaest daughter.

After so many years, I still remember that wonderful day. Every mother, will

never forget the birthday of their children, never! I believe.

My Little Dog

I like dog very much, I brought up a small dog named xiaohua when I was a little boy. She was my playmate because other children lived far away from my home and my bodyguard because my parents often worked very late in our land. When there was stranger around my home, xiaohua would shout at him loudly, the stranger would walk far away, and I was not so scared. But when I was twelve years old xiaohua was died of poison. I was so angry so inconsolable that I refused any food mother prepared for me. When I was alone in my room, I couldn’t help crying, I was so hated myself that I couldn’t pardon myself because I didn’t well protect her. I asked sky loudly who did this on earth! It’s who! My mother told me the whole story after half year when she thought I became calm. The reason was just xiaohua ate the person’s eggs, and he gave xiaohua poison! I came to xiaohua’s tomb which I made for her, my tears came to my face, looking at the tree on the tomb, I thought people should be friend to each other, you could tell me my dog eating your eggs, and I’d like to pay for that, how could you do that to bereave her life and made me losing my best friend? Oh my God, let the whole world people be friend forever!
