JOB SUMMARY: The Chief Returning Officer reports to the President of 3 @$ R- v$ k# q5 J% G- X/ g) w
the Students' Union and oversees all electoral logistics as per Bylaw % {7 z' G0 n' u0 c% e
2000. The Chief Returning Officer shall be recommended to Students' $ J7 l/ T5 X" i; H6 j

Standing Orders by April 15 and serve from May 1 to April 30 of the & W! O* G) }' K
year following their appointment.

2) To run referenda/plebiscites as per Bylaw 2000.8 Z7 g' ^5 Y Y: N, s1 y0 D
9 f( o9 d6 N* g% g! ?, r+ S3) To choose the Deputy Returning Officer(s) and assign their duties.

adequate poll staff and situating polls at appropriate locations

6) To report the result of an election/referendum to the appropriate

To enforce budgetary regulations as stipulated in the Elections

minimum of four (4) working hours a day, between Monday to Friday, ( d0 r1 j) ^+ A/ ]4 Y
from the first working day after nominations close until the last day

11) To act as the arbitrator in any dispute which may arise during

12) To ensure that a cost effective and accurate ballot counting * x) P% _9 z+ s, j! _8 {3 |4 i. n
process is in place.

for each of the terms of Winter Session and shall be a full Students' 3 x" ? U( B- M+ e! E2 m5 C7 ?

2) Must have some experience in student elections.
