Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
2 x. H& X2 R7 _& l% Fnon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
) q. ?% Z9 D1 v) t% M4 `4 Qworks within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
& F8 p) P1 Z: a% K1 S) Ypolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
affairs at all times.

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
8 j7 }& w* n2 k( p& L2 n) |+ jmedia/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
+ n2 s) k% z$ ^6 v8 Hfor the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
5 t2 F7 D1 C  n* A3 s: z/ k4 q) tto implement the organizational policies.

1 P  |+ Z" y9 [5 wPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

6 v+ R3 U; p5 vIn addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
" L& j$ l8 U  c9 Z. Sthe funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
$ g8 M  d. W8 w$ [" w2 jthat bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
( e; w. a( n3 s: o- \3 lpayable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
: O, h$ ]# s  i" ]  Nthe organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

& Y% ?, |# K; r! u" K/ I. |- BKey Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
+ o; A' w7 \+ R- b* V7 j# f: }including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
1 x" h% z. U! y; m) xpartners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
4 a, S0 [. `( ?2 ?' S0 Corganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
7 P% U4 R: V* u6 B$ }* ~work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
* }8 s$ x. }1 S" P8 Qmanaging projects and budgets.

+ w) c4 \# K, m8 HPLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance

with youth.
