ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Length: A maximum of 15 weeks

Position Responsibilities

; C' B; g  [& n; e$ d$ WCommunity Initiatives Documenter
+ \+ e3 A/ U* o3 sThe CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

Education Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

Qualifications:
. j4 D+ G( t. h/ r8 R6 A' @1.        Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
2.        Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
4 t+ d" L* h5 j2 k3.        Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
! g4 g/ t7 c) W* b' u/ ?$ n4.        Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
