BARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving5 {' A$ c7 E0 w/ T& N; L7 _

9 n4 Q# S1 L1 j# ?+ |22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday  7 {' b0 s, C5 [- R' f7 w
through Friday. I' a$ u* h" E! }. G# @2 A

* ?: A$ m2 F5 \4 w+ v6 h. wJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
2 p0 }4 v2 z+ j  T% L2 ?: }Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
% @, X5 H0 D# vprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  ' P: L* X4 i4 s+ Z
cleanliness and order in the bar.1 o. r$ {7 ]* x
9 A- C* B3 }& E' V' A0 r
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
4 `: G2 ^1 O6 w; G+ o7 k* _1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  : O9 t$ ~/ F/ S; |  h
beverage items.( {+ K+ }0 n  A/ f* |  l
2 j4 D$ F: n9 G' r/ t
2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  2 H' Z/ W- Y9 n/ c% S/ e
bar and debit floats.
0 q& j4 k0 n3 s2 A0 h) Y) \9 X- B. U1 F
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  # A* W9 I. T( U  J* s. O: G
each shift, and upon closing.& S2 o$ h4 d3 g8 B

, f8 M0 Z! ?+ F  E+ |2 d4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  9 z8 R6 Y% ~  d6 R, p0 W: A; H
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  1 r$ I. G1 k0 r0 l$ r! j( d9 v
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.# s( R6 t/ b; J7 e0 v! t

5 q  z# m4 f1 b3 l5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in    ?* I# Y* W6 N- y
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
( Y" W$ k% m& Bproducts, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.
' g9 @% x  i+ g9 i; b) a
+ T, K( X9 {; ^% m" R6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
; Y- T2 m& T& A  ?4 I8 Q: Kmonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
; f3 X/ ?+ @5 U- N+ J- I) E$ X# [high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
4 ?+ M9 A# Y9 m( p1 J5 z( Yaccordance with Students' Union policies.; ]1 U' _2 `9 n  ?+ R- C

7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
# o1 }/ q7 e8 y% W5 [1 fhigh standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.) h) m. L- N# t$ u
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
" s  @) ]* J& S! ]: s$ M& @Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
$ @; Y# F- L! V, H# C! HSenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.  }/ I: o! L0 B( X# K

' [# |3 D8 O7 ~6 mQUALIFICATIONS:
: Q+ T! e4 Z  ^2 g( A2 ~1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
( o- s% G9 F" H( ?& I3 s' g! D1 I3 v5 U
7 x& A: T- }3 p2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  # v) {' f2 k" U0 c# {, n  y
operation./ Z- F( K& X3 B$ Y
; q" U8 w7 A, `2 Y4 q2 J- q( ^# @/ m7 @
3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
9 V+ {0 k. M2 n: [3 ^/ M" x8 _accordance with Students' Union policy.9 d6 o3 m, M0 g  W3 W# i- j7 B

9 T$ `' D) v0 u! J0 R* v4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.' H: Q6 A* w# a2 `" v+ E% M

% P9 l+ r. k2 r5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
- V: _9 k/ P, G* MUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  % Q+ _5 i, K: T
attitude.

Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food
