22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
( v/ c; N0 f% zOperations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  0 C3 E$ ^( `" z% d+ f% E5 `& Z
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  : T( S$ \) F# o1 _; i
cleanliness and order in the bar.# ~7 x  ?$ H3 K. M0 O# S3 ?- v

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
! Q: ~# _! ~6 ]$ C# j  A1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  * a0 N  `. P# v3 D- Z/ h
beverage items.
0 v$ L5 Q0 N9 J. @. E3 f$ j( M+ @% ^  ~# I! g( K
2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  ' `2 k9 ?/ ~0 |9 V, l
bar and debit floats.+ a+ v: x  _, U+ |8 m
2 z, C* f% O6 C  j" w
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  3 v' P; l6 I  C4 q. Y0 ]- f' q1 }
each shift, and upon closing.
$ i: E" @- R# d! ~3 w. O7 ?* ]3 o" j8 i4 `! Q# c0 t
4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
. |6 Q, g1 R2 E8 ~, u; i- uattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  , |2 q+ i! o/ `- Z% s
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.
* [$ G5 G4 ]0 F; D; D) L1 [4 i6 @6 z  q/ w, ]" p$ n
5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  2 o$ l) z+ a! y  |; K" M+ \# Z
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
( @* l  e. o  F) X2 xproducts, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.( E5 S4 g0 b4 \( ?+ \3 J( M
, D0 K8 Q! z: f3 A  R. J
6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  ) E' C; ^  e4 A# m
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  . [* p3 n$ f  c' P
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
2 i' ~4 Z1 x3 S2 S2 aaccordance with Students' Union policies.

8 \* N- Q- J& u9 O0 L% E! s/ m7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  ; q6 w  |! G! Q" M) w( K
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.8 ~3 m0 T2 J& |0 S$ i$ j; E
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  # y' j& g' i/ ?- F+ E$ y
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.4 P* E- ~7 N( k4 J. K/ q
8 h* G" t4 }# v. I8 }$ o' `4 s; X
9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
8 @9 \4 t2 N% I$ u: ?- uSenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:- g% k1 `1 c& z, O1 S% t3 O
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.0 `+ o5 ^4 l% t1 C! `; C

$ D& e8 n+ h2 T% q+ E; Z9 z6 ]9 D2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  % a1 u6 s1 v' {# d# Y
operation./ \- H. T2 s% J' ~$ q* K' I3 h

( p# l8 A7 u* r  [. c2 q3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
# v" j4 i; @+ L2 ^  g: d. haccordance with Students' Union policy.: R$ e8 b+ \  X( ]! r

3 n# N4 b. E& X. L/ n# P' ^4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.5 d) H1 g( J) a( h

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  ) O% T6 n% X# v& d
