BARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving

8 _4 Y1 i) B9 r: ~3 V9 C* @2 p22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday  
# q& Q9 ]: ~; Q+ ~& x6 g* }& D0 ~' W* ythrough Friday

. `9 T3 I0 d# X5 K3 d; lJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  ! l1 L/ F0 ]/ N: J. ]
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  , ~; A0 B; k, P# q/ G
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
- R, G' f' v0 F5 I! n1 Vcleanliness and order in the bar.

/ t2 [; P9 ?" E+ G! ]DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- S& q' z: N' a) a! x' ^2 \' d
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
$ `- q- E1 V  A7 c8 Fbeverage items.
7 b3 j" G( H6 R* K2 M6 p' I  ]) x4 k" ^6 r: r
2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
. C5 W! }  w8 Q2 L$ z0 wbar and debit floats.3 E( ]6 z# I  @$ {3 I. I
0 _% b3 g- k- ~/ C% D% l; ?
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  - Z! Z7 `( j/ h9 ]  ], z# }
each shift, and upon closing.9 V! I9 L9 Q) Q! s" X

4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  . O) Z- W; t. I4 P! \  F
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
1 x1 U- x2 E: Q! x6 o2 V  M! t# eseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

& Z* r* }( Y$ Q' W3 a8 d5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  " f# @6 ?# Q5 \- [3 U8 e7 @
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol    j4 p- c# \) A* V1 O  ]
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.2 c+ R9 `( B0 g! P4 m# n$ i

5 L9 B; B4 a9 ?. Y* u6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
: s- E' c" K6 C0 m: X' X# e' e4 Nmonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
8 E* K- w( z6 U9 _; M- chigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
! ]- a: r1 x& r- Waccordance with Students' Union policies.
- ~/ N- g+ P+ x; r% b2 ^5 X  \: J( l& F7 W9 p
7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  1 a  `* A0 ?$ {. l& F, r2 s8 n
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
1 m0 d0 r0 z' r0 _ To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
" x- Y; D( P/ J; s, @" s3 dAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.
. w0 H" W7 w5 H6 a8 X: Z! t) f/ J, f9 S5 ?, F% [. ~1 Z; S& K
9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  0 `0 y! |; V3 @# P
Senior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
. \3 l; o8 N4 |, ^0 O5 x$ R- w1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
. P1 R2 I" V+ q8 x7 d& v4 B" O6 g/ N8 [, P0 }- d! N* a! p
2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  . P% x' _% Y2 @" T
operation.
% ^& o5 ^: O/ b# x4 @/ ^7 K: h
, j) U/ r& V' P) |* w$ \& J# A3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
+ D0 X, i1 @4 e' Aaccordance with Students' Union policy.+ K  H8 E7 R1 Q+ u; g+ v" t

2 b' e( g! Y2 W) l4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.
6 i; K2 s  ]+ @/ a3 N# A1 Z8 l2 o# V, b, a6 j" m2 y
5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  ! v$ m6 Y0 w& i9 E' ?

Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food
