through Friday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
- j. i/ U2 R5 s& g; @8 x+ kprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
) b7 _% E$ v. Bcleanliness and order in the bar.

& X: n% Y* }- k. {% B- u5 u; W1 S7 ~DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
) R& _' P8 r0 m% B1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
beverage items.

2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
. N" T' Z' a9 ^7 F* {bar and debit floats.

3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
% d7 W; l! W4 K* {. q! |each shift, and upon closing.

0 g; F7 v" l5 j$ E2 `4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
  e4 _. }% K0 F" w4 T  \attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

, R; s5 J+ D3 v7 S5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
+ |7 n1 l8 |0 `products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
8 Y  B! J2 Z4 d) U, Tmonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
* Z" k# X& ]8 w3 w7 }accordance with Students' Union policies.

5 u9 H+ p- k- q  E7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
Senior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.


$ e  q' Q" e) [0 PQUALIFICATIONS:
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
) P2 Q; g4 t$ @; x7 h* woperation.

3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
% y4 N% @/ y8 D; U& ]accordance with Students' Union policy.

& a* o, z9 D2 B1 k; L& k4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

" m# W4 w, ]! `8 R& H' \# D  C% J5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
& L' A/ M% W- v+ ^  ~attitude.

Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
