11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and

8 Y. h: G8 ?3 H! O# \) U) vJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.

0 R; u* P. h: e% x3 qDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
$ k+ S- V9 m, F1 U+ h4 ?) X2 ^: B) f0 s6 L4 a1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.

* f/ y( [9 J: [$ i1 q( s2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
$ A/ j' Q  J7 R2 |accordance with Students' Union policies.

/ Z% K, A" z2 }; P3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
+ ]9 G3 P" Q  y. m+ y' Mtotal cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

9 }# w1 q& C& z- A4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
including regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
and ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

4 \$ L) K% J- q$ j: {2 {$ O5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
+ \& b* P+ `' m( z$ e1 Iaction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
& [3 e2 A! L( ?+ qintervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
, F/ ]8 W7 A- V4 u/ o6 ^' sAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

) K4 i& a6 P5 o- k8 f7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
) e9 q" `5 O6 N4 d; b* HManager.

QUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.

( ?& i7 j0 J7 v8 ~) c3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
& P. ?# @( d1 U0 p* h3 |policy.
' y5 P& W2 y0 |/ k
4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.
4 K& w1 Z# i& j% b
( |; [+ V1 V) O) I5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
' n" {% U4 Y% U$ O% [4 l: H5 Iprofessional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
