The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
* I" \3 r# @" v- ?- Htechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
3 p, z" ^* }6 y+ h& O4 Kfor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

8 ?8 c; L! }! B$ IQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
0 D$ i2 T& I: `1 a; o: eChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
' W  x, @/ G) o, {" R1 C4 Z6 ianalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
6 [; s8 `8 U! T$ G  A, k7 Pseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
