The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
9195.  

% Q7 U3 ^/ l' g0 p5 VSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
" E& r) \! H9 B" G0 Bfor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
$ U3 L0 X2 |) p9 L$ @2 einclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.
* E$ R/ S# l+ r
Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
. k$ h1 u4 Z8 K4 \0 M; S6 O8 A# S1 L6 BChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
/ o- ^2 S2 `* J! I/ ^& d0 M, danalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
3 k! a6 V1 D+ rseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
/ U% b! B% {/ U; x: P9 [This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
