TORONTO -- Sun Life Financial Inc. said Monday it is retiring the Clarica brand as part of a revised marketing strategy.
! S" `9 N) W) W! ^- V/ ~Clarica was introduced in 1999 by Mutual life of Canada, and was acquired by Sun Life three years later.
% G9 h: ~1 L* m/ r( q' yThere are almost two million Clarica policy- and accountholders in Canada, said Sun Life. Clarica also has a sales force of about 3,500.

The company said the changes will be completed by the first quarter of 2008. Sun Life will incur a $40-million to $50-million charge in the first quarter of 2007.# |/ |: ~6 M' T1 A
