1984: Triple Five Corporation, developer of West Edmonton Mall, buys property from Woodward's and spends $25 million on renovations.

Renovation separates the anchors in an effort to draw traffic past a new ice rink and food court. Slogan "New Cool" used to attract shoppers.8 q# i! r( B, H' v% L9 ^3 W

2003: Sandalwood Management buys mall and starts adding stand-alone stores on "pad locations."5 D3 e2 {2 N5 C h& W

MARCH 15, 2007: First Capital Realty Inc. pays $70 million for Westmount Shopping Centre and plans to demolish part of the shopping centre between Zellers and Shoppers Drug Mart and build a $21-million Home Depot. S1 w# H$ S$ n; u
