Today I was volunteering at a post office. A man in an old jacket with uncombed hair came to the counter. He had a wallet in his hand, and put it on the counter. He told me:

3 ]* b& ]2 l) f0 `/ c# [$ mI did not understand what he meant by "it", because usually people would send a letter or a parcel back to the sender, and I did not see he had any of those. So I asked him:4 q3 q' r- S+ E. j1 @( j# S( |, C
"I am sorry, what are you sending back?" # T1 E$ h: x! \. W
He said, "the Wallet, I am sending back the wallet." Then he added: "I am going to pay the postage." ; m9 C0 L" ?* R, `, r
"Oh, you found a wallet, and you are going to send it back to the person who lost it?" $ d3 Q& l2 f% U, l5 l8 A; |6 @
"Yes, I did."

He took out his wallet, which was nearly worn-out, small, and almost empty. There were some coins inside. " f6 g9 L2 X! s+ ?9 z, `
I gave him a bubbled envelope, and instructed him where to write the addresses. He wrote the owner's address, but stopped at writing a return address. He asked:" p( g; R$ _! ` V
"Is it okay that I do not write this part?"
7 e& y8 E. E6 U"Yes, you may." I thought he must want to be a nameless hero. But he said:. L* B2 T' C( s" X4 P! c
"I do not have an address."

He did not look up, and said: "I do not have a home."' i2 O; ], v$ T% s0 A0 A' ?& H! H* q
My heart had a sudden jump. I realized that this is a homeless man who found money but was sending it back to the person who lost it. ' z1 {8 L+ [% F8 V4 f g/ A
He did not a posses a home, but he had a big heart. He had the precious fortune of being a man of integrity.
