Edmonton home builders say they are working non-stop to meet a demand they haven’t seen since the boom of 2005.

1 U$ V G! J7 P- J9 e" I+ uBuilders started construction on 468 new single detached homes last month, a 34 per cent increase from August 2013.

“Right now we're running flat out, we’re building as much as we can,” said Rob Busby, construction manager for Landmark Homes.- t/ w' ?$ L1 G. H8 @

The increased demand is due to strong job and population growth, according to Christina Butchart, senior analyst with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.* Y. h0 L) A6 z0 ^) y4 V- U# m
