According to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.

She lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.: z4 t- X6 s7 c; l9 | j* B3 P

The man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.7 _/ g4 L8 Z# t! ?7 A6 ^

Search efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said.
