Did you immigrate to Canada through a federal immigration program requiring a third-party test result for language ability? (e.g. Federal Skilled Workers, Canadian Experience Class)

If yes: Were the tests and results the following:
•Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program General (CELPIP-G) test, but not the academic version. You must have achieved 2H or higher (3L, 3H, 4L, 4H, 5 or 6)
•International English Language Testing System (IELTS), general training and not the academic version. You must have achieved: ◦4.0 or higher in speaking, and
◦4.5 or higher in listening. (If the test was done before November 28, 2008, we will accept a 4 or higher.)

•Test d’Évaluation de Français (TEF). We will accept either: ◦Level 3 or higher, or
◦B1 or higher (B2, C1 or C2).

1 W- u' L0 d: y( V. K% g0 V: oIf yes, and you completed LINC/CLIC at level CLB 4 or higher in speaking and listening, you can submit a copy of your LINC/CLIC certificate, received on or after November 1st, 2012, with your citizenship application.

+ S7 L( z7 J8 ~- w If you did LINC/CLIC training between January 2008 and October 2012, mark the box on your citizenship application and we will verify it electronically.

Note that LINC/CLIC certificates cannot be used as school records that you may be required to provide with your citizenship application.

If you answered “No” to all the other questions but think you can speak and understand French or English well enough to apply for citizenship, you should take a third party language test approved by CIC. Submit the results with your application.

You can take the following tests and must get the following results:
•CELPIP-General test: you need a score of 2H or higher (3L, 3H, 4L, 4H, 5 or 6) in speaking and listening; OR
- O+ d0 P4 T7 X. q& R. F( v•CELPIP-General LS (a two-skills, listening and speaking version of the CELPIP-General test): you need a score of 2H or higher (3L, 3H, 4L, 4H, 5 or 6) in listening and speaking; OR
& L# f- l( y3 d8 t% D•IELTS General training test: you need a score of 4.0 or higher in speaking, and 4.5 or higher in listening; OR
•TEF test: you need a score of B1 or higher (B2, C1 or C2) in listening and speaking; OR
•TEFAQ or TEF épreuves orales: both are two-skills (listening and speaking) versions of the TEF. You need a score of B1 or higher (B2, C1 or C2).
