For those that are quick to label our community as leftist NIMBY's, you will see that the community of Terwillegar will be moving forward with a different humanitarian project which will become public in the coming weeks. In spite of how others want to negatively label the community of Terwillegar, this was never about not liking the homeless, this was about finding a project that works for everyone. Being isolated with no services is no way to support individuals who have many complex needs.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ed ... by-church-1.2356519The Anglican Diocese is withdrawing from a controversial residence for the homeless proposed on land owned by the church in Terwillegar.

The diocese had entered into a memorandum of understanding with Jasper Place Health and Wellness to build the 60-unit building next to Holy Trinity Riverbend Anglican Church.

However, the project was strongly opposed by some who live in the southwest Edmonton neighbourhood over fears about safety and decreased property values.

The church has decided to drop the project and start over again on the same parcel of land.

“We don’t think it’s the right project at the right time,” said Jane Alexander, bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Edmonton.

“We’re committed to doing something on that land which will help us to commit to our responsibility in the 10-year plan to end homelessness but we don’t think this is the right project.”

Alexander says the consultation process was flawed so people in the community will never accept the project in its present form.

In September, members of the Terwillegar Towne Homeowners Association approved the expenditure of up to $35,000 in legal fees to fight the project.

尽快联系政客和将要得利的机构，告诉他们你愿意把你的爱心都献给他们。

这个口口声声要支持homeless的机构从来没有拿出过任何计划如何支持这个项目的homeless，反而是出尔反尔地不停改变他们之前承诺的支持对象。这个项目要真是通过了，才是爱心的悲哀。

假借道德爱心之口，乱花税款为自己得利可耻！

Good news for homeless, they don't have to live such far away downtown. they are more happier than terwillergar residents.
