Job Description:

# K( L* c5 H& r1 ]7 \• Support capital projects and network build activity with coordination, installation, and commissioning duties • Respond to corrective network problems, performing effective/efficient problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt repair of equipment to ensure service restoral objectives are met.

" X. g" V: [  d8 G• Coordinate with other Technicians and departments as required to obtain maintain service levels.

0 z& K1 _: a% e& d) y4 P& e. G• Plan for and implement preventive maintenance routines to ensure network standards of performance are met.

  }' W! r% L" Z" M4 d- }• Perform cutovers and upgrades on the network as directed by work orders.

- N6 |+ Y/ m/ r3 ]7 |- M4 l• Maintain "up-to-date" site documentation as outlined by the EWO initiative.

• Perform acceptance tests on newly installed sites and equipment to ensure results meet design specifications.

/ r8 B! D" ~& X; k2 j• Microwave and Transmission experience (e.g. DS1, DS2 ,DS3, OC3, OC12, IP) • Gain in depth knowledge of key quality service indicators in geographic area of responsibility.

• Optical Fiber, SONET and knowledge of TCP/IP • Participate in retune activities associated with network optimization and build activities.

• Maintain inventory of required parts and perform regular audits to ensure availability of parts.

• Administrative reporting of Mileage, Timesheet, Expenses, Equipment and Deficiency ticket updates etc.

• Test hand-offs, RSSI, transmit level on mobiles, dropped calls and investigate any changes.

• Document activities for future assessment analysis.

• Maintain current documentation of site status, complete trouble tickets, incident report and other required reports.

• Shift work, overtime, and 24 hour on-call support may be required on a regular rotational basis.



QUALIFICATIONS:

. Z, P4 ^$ z# k! d7 x• 5 years of telecommunications experience.

• Diploma or Certificate in Electronics from a technical institute.

2 q4 ?7 m$ z7 b5 C• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

• Demonstrated investigative, problem solving, analysis and troubleshooting skills.

$ E$ K" _: M" |" S• Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.

• Standby, overtime and shift work is required.

• Ability to travel and work at various sites as required.

The Manager is looking for a contractor with the following skills:

: u/ q- H" ~& d1 F-Telecom Diploma with at least 2 years of post secondary education -Experience working at a cell site -Must be willing to travel around Alberta (expenses will be reimbursed) -Experience with Spectrum Analyzers, Internet Protocol Analyzers, RFC testing and Microwave testing *The manager is not looking for Engineers.
