Orientation 2006: The Action Starts Here! Your registration in the University of , `, C+ o( L" d6 J# g. r3 D2 r
Alberta's Orientation program is now confirmed. In addition, we would 5 Q$ f7 M/ t k5 ~
like to thank you for your interest in the My Undergraduate Groups ; P& u) h% O- q% b
(MUGs) Program; you have been signed-up for the 2006-2007 school year. By $ b# T: ~' X/ {3 b* d2 e
attending both Orientation and MUGs, you will receive a great deal of
9 G/ W4 v( l: jinformation that will make your transition to the University community
3 w9 C/ T* i6 J3 K2 Vmore successful.

Orientation 2006 will be held on Monday, September 4th and Tuesday,
. V1 m. E; L ]% hSeptember 4th, 2006. Check in is at 9:30am on September 4th. Your check

" L9 j" v* W( k, X; h( f( Hbe found south of Saskatchewan Drive, west of HUB.

If you are unfamiliar with campus you can visit : b& d0 W$ N" \" o
www.campusmap.ualberta.ca to find your check in location. However, don't worry about having 7 }6 R( u& H7 p& W4 a
to find your check in location all by yourself, there will be hundreds % x1 x$ W8 c. n1 H3 T
of volunteers ready to help you when you get to campus. Specifically
( ~- L* A: i( p) y- e( e2 {look for the volunteers in bright colored t-shirts, as they have a wealth
# z$ O7 E" Q2 Y; f, X; y m4 xof directional information.

Both days run on a similar schedule, from 9:30am to 6pm, with evening
8 R/ {) _* U3 [" R: P5 nactivities planned for both days. Throughout the 2 days you will attend
& y& @/ q1 D |9 _! D6 O3 O$ X: |a variety of sessions crucial to your success at the U of A. On Tuesday
- U- Y( ^9 g) _! |& z; [( Levening we host our highlight event, the President's Address, in ) m O6 ]7 t5 Y' J3 W
Hawrelak Park.

You will also meet your MUG Leader and the rest of your MUG group on
& d7 _6 ~0 V2 L5 ` b9 ?' fSeptember 4th, with whom you will spend the two days at Orientation 2006, $ e. r" N- L+ m- Q7 D
and then continue to meet with for the entire year.

, R. `! Z6 e) w1 RBoth MUGs and Orientation 2006 will provide many opportunities for you
+ m- U, R$ U, @ p yto get all of your questions answered and to meet other students from
* b3 v" O: m5 \) n# ]your faculty. Among other things, you are scheduled to receive your ! g1 Y3 I1 q2 Q' l
ONECard on one of the two days of Orientation 2006. To be able to process 7 R G/ V6 N. S! s3 J+ o
your ONECard, you will need to bring your acceptance letter and a piece 9 H# R9 v# O! ^# b% x
of government-issued photo ID. You will also need to bring your Campus
5 i( P7 F" q; N. g0 fComputing ID (CCID), which was sent by e-mail from AICT (Academic / ~+ U4 [# V5 X, y& e
Information and Communications Technologies). Dress for the weather and
$ W) t9 c, o" @ F3 ]1 ?bring either money or food for up to four meals (lunch and dinner for the
4 m' S j9 v+ n% @, r2 b5 q5 X" Itwo days of Orientation)./ M1 z' U' x9 U1 P( `1 e
