Qualifications:
5 R$ L6 S$ t7 Q, F( s: ]Successful additions to our team will have:
" }7 t) n3 A' G3 M3 b2 P! ?Completed a 2 year diploma in law enforcement from a provincially recognized institution
4 d* q! W+ j& A# @& ^A minimum of 2 years related public contact experience including 6 months of bylaw or legislation enforcement experience
Considerable knowledge of and ability to apply Animal Control legislation, bylaw enforcement practices and investigation techniques
$ K6 W- l1 B' @0 P+ L/ HAbility to control a wide variety of domestic and potentially dangerous animals utilizing appropriate equipment
: N/ e% m9 _' i* V5 tThe ability to enforce bylaws impartially and tactfully, often in difficult and/or confrontational situations
Excellent conflict management decision making skills
& U+ X3 u  {5 mStrong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
( i  I* j$ n. M: C- t- lAbility to prepare reports and to accurately complete required documentation
Proficiency working with computers including Microsoft Word and Excel
, q, @% H) X9 R0 x: BAbility to qualify as a Community Peace Officer II  
Certification in Standard First Aid and CPR is an asset
, y/ @5 P- y3 f) Y& ]0 BAn original enhanced Police Information Check (background check on applicant, family and close associates, that is satisfactory to the employer will be required before starting in the position.  Please note, this may take up to 3 weeks to process

8 q1 M( ?; h8 a: e/ K( XSalary Range: 10M, Salary Grade: 073, $32.674 - $33.777 (Hourly).  The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton
