Job Description:
/ a1 c: g7 W* Q• Offer support and assistance to the General Manager in the following areas:
$ @- w. ]; F# i- Z% Q) @• Develop, prepare, execute and achieve financial goals;
) f! X: ]3 B: X• Provide timely and accurate financial statements; : g8 @6 t# u0 h' o# @- Y
• Maintain the system of internal checks designed to prevent or promptly detect unauthorized transactions;) \" b: N2 l- x/ _
• To analyze Hotel’s performance versus budget and investigate variances as required;$ _% v* P& Z$ c5 H
• To monitor operational expenditures in conjunction with approved budgets;
) r1 z& N* j; |6 a+ s3 p• To reconcile all supplier accounts, to post all payables, and to pay vendors in accordance with due dates and cash flow projections;
, P1 H/ |; Y+ K/ l• To monitor city ledger and guest ledger transactions, and to collect all receivables on a timely basis;
/ v7 |& ?7 v* c% ^- n- j- a- Q8 P* t• To set up, track, record, and process all payrolls; to handle related HR and benefit matters as required

• Ensure Internal audit recommendations are implemented on a timely basis; 9 G" ^" u3 |' _ ^$ O; ]
• To ensure all Hotel’s contracts have proper authorization, negotiations for renewal and are properly filed and are easily available for corporate review;& h( u7 j. c, H, z& P
• To ensure that there is an effective system of purchasing, receiving, and control of supplies in place at all times with proper requisition procedures;3 Z L. C$ f: }) j: ^7 W- p) r
• To ensure that usual and exceptional purchases are approved consistent with the budgeting and forecasting system;

• To provide month-end packages to the Corporate Office and assist in the preparation of financial statements;

• Duties associated with Controller Position including but not limited to the above listings.

• Strong accounting knowledge to handle a complete accounting cycle in a centralized environment.! s" K2 `" E2 F' w4 Y+ A+ i8 h' ~
• Ability to deal with all levels of management, staff and owners in a professional manner;% d0 S- o' \4 R3 Q: X
• Supervisory experience within the hotel industry; 0 r( K1 N$ s! }4 v1 W- ]
• Knowledge of development and execution of business plans and budgets;
8 S: Z, W2 J( x• Excellent communication, interpersonal and administration skills; " N7 E/ k( X5 d3 s0 v
• Proficient / familiarity with computerized systems such as : hotel PMS, Oracle and ADP payroll systems.* ~2 U) k0 E$ \/ R7 p
• Knowledge of Alberta Labor Standards an assets. * N* @3 E4 m/ S' E
• Ability to work within deadlines and under pressure; / G ?- F. C* D g$ m
• Proven ability to manage multi-tasked assignments. - r! m! l- y C) X" }1 P1 A" v
• Level 3 CGA/CMA an asset.
