# q6 j: x6 T9 e, C1 Q r/ B- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment 9 _. {, F8 G, a3 z1 g6 [. J
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements) z. b; I1 `- v. _2 [+ q
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines

2 T1 W/ U, @5 O" v! W- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools% |) F* s& U8 U7 k/ n3 {; @$ a. @! Q* k
- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system& V: _$ q# } p) u7 ]. Z
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
0 W. e, l9 z" J! v- E$ C- Test system for leaks using testing equipment6 x3 C/ e# ~5 a: K
- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system W9 }* z, U) h3 d8 [' o% W& \/ Z7 Y
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system

- Completion of secondary school( x6 H6 X; p6 |, @; e: u6 O
- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
6 v- `" y) u- S3 _, E1 {' n- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset% l' A3 u, j; a& L5 p2 q: q
