Department: Fabrication Shop

Location: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

' z6 I! V$ c7 v/ C7 K- LResponsibilities and Tasks

-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
, S  h2 H& q1 c-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
$ e- A5 t" }0 ~; E-        Select type and size of pipe required
-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
* s2 f: n5 Z/ U-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
2 s: E4 {) \" h+ t-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
2 u/ x/ I. q* j( K& X2 d# _5 k-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
1 @( F# p  m0 q. T' M: {9 T-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

Required Qualifications

4 p0 j' }4 \; A' @: r% g0 O-        Completion of secondary school
-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
; e0 q% m% u5 ?2 J/ t. x( L4 w-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
) P/ w& ~) q2 c; [: }-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
