Responsibilities and Tasks# B4 D1 Y2 u8 Q4 k
% B9 r6 w( x6 F f
- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment
3 j- Q6 `9 ]$ ]9 l$ B. k- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
. b0 w" j; Y5 q; d! N1 [- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
4 }' ?: g) A, Z0 P+ c$ s M- Select type and size of pipe required! W+ H% T) z: r2 Z" C5 F/ v( t7 O- L
- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools2 j1 P/ l! k; z9 v2 D( x
- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system' [' T1 i: u2 N2 v
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
/ k9 i# `3 Z- L! X9 X- Test system for leaks using testing equipment% C/ } v G6 J, e2 s0 @
- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
0 f0 h# G1 e5 _, G! x- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system1 U$ ^+ \& [7 W) M1 z6 ]6 e( H, b
- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program6 A5 H& M/ z* w+ j
- Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

Required Qualifications
, N+ Z( k( K3 e; A$ O; P- ]1 s$ J
1 q. n1 w+ Q& S: ^+ t6 K- Completion of secondary school
' ^) g8 v1 o5 ~, r0 }- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation ' O' j* c( L5 h& L
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

2 ~- Z( {3 ^: m: `" ]* z) p# I- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset

- Valid drivers’ license is an asset
