0 ^! y# Y& V" c3 OLocation: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.


Responsibilities and Tasks

( M9 \+ V" `+ S4 U. T  Q-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
% ?) H' }& k8 i4 f7 D4 U-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
" x& r0 g' f) |5 f) b! R) L2 {-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
8 S! L7 i1 s  x/ T-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
* G2 m1 T% L) g-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
9 U2 }) J* h' O0 Y5 q, _-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
4 G4 B4 C+ U$ K  F1 |-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
: C+ n, ]& H2 h% X-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
: O, ~7 _0 ?" F9 w+ u+ g" z-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

% P% l1 q; r3 Y' @* ^1 g5 k-        Completion of secondary school
4 g' R) T* J% {9 F! r: c) g( M4 L-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
0 R' q: T+ @0 S  `. P-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  j. k! w% d7 g6 B+ |( E; w0 L: Z-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
! c% G; P  a8 W+ l0 P-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
/ J2 x- [; v' U8 @8 b2 Y-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
# @/ U6 @% R/ w-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
