% M y2 D2 M& t- ~) dResponsibilities and Tasks
" J6 z) Z4 h+ M1 K3 I: S, Y2 \2 E0 s8 W
- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment
/ E; ~+ H/ T# V3 D- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
0 C1 h. w I3 r- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines2 d- d: Z! H* W* L
- Select type and size of pipe required
" y4 ~; U. M9 z4 l6 F9 d( N5 U- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
3 d: V! F0 N+ B0 [& P+ n2 o- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system5 t3 Y5 m9 P) g. P" n2 W
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems8 h+ Y: n4 X# F" E0 P5 O ^
- Test system for leaks using testing equipment
# M7 g, K5 r; y# P- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
% D9 g# [+ @9 r7 v* T' [$ I# W- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
" H3 L! j5 V$ v! F; n( Z* b& v- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
% j7 f" c) T2 O3 ~' I8 ~# b- Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

Required Qualifications
& l/ D7 r+ O5 j8 I( Z2 d. |( d; V. C/ s9 G; X7 r* }( Z i( N
- Completion of secondary school
3 c: ?9 E* T7 Y4 }. P$ ~7 a' S- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
4 t. R3 H5 W/ O! [& s, I J9 W- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
& o: m! G# s8 Z* W2 F: X" H- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
1 x% I" b. r& L- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
2 H1 t3 |4 j' k; R/ Z) q5 \& b- Safety tickets are considered an asset

- Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
