Location: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

' w$ j" J8 Z( P( CResponsibilities and Tasks
/ W0 r2 g) b- y7 d4 c6 l3 `
3 Z5 {1 I8 w+ T3 J- S-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
; N) D4 Y5 a0 T% R' N8 S! Z-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
$ B% T; Y! u3 P( ?9 N( g-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
, R7 ]2 U) x1 ~& E' N4 r. v-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
: i+ u1 e; g' C0 G- D-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

Required Qualifications

-        Completion of secondary school
-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
# h) [* E4 h8 R4 Y& i-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
3 M  A8 A( F+ N& |0 y-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
) s# ~- z$ W1 Y0 H( t- B3 o# v-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
- x- A+ G5 b$ g# [% q-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
-        Valid driver’s license is an asset
