$ ^) j7 {1 E2 k; P& j' t+ MTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

5 p- K0 Y/ c" W( E$ @% z( VThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
+ e7 t$ A! ]. A/ q0 [4 O7 S" ^& J• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
6 q' B @$ s2 `8 H; A+ n• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
/ r! F9 k7 q0 j; S7 C/ C3 x: m& {- I• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;

# _) U0 {# x# K' N• Risk Management and succession planning;

• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
; d. K' L2 a7 l6 J) N• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
9 ]& r* |1 _* S5 g3 e• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;, ^0 j6 D) y P9 u; l' _
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
! _6 F9 h9 {7 O. x6 K, ]3 R; K9 _• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;8 B5 M$ {3 K/ [0 a8 C) p* g6 b! W
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
* d+ W+ s) L0 Z• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;& i, `' A5 n f1 Y ], r
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:8 L4 {; L. V; J; r% x1 Z/ j
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;; N2 h& d+ }8 |4 T% C
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;8 f' N( B4 j* [1 |% V1 |
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; 8 @$ L9 B% M ]" R# B& S% r
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;7 X$ {* i7 `/ S! }. W
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
! [' T5 [" F% T: G. O. H• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
: e6 _* x$ G) {9 f" S6 ?• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
2 _2 b, K. M, X+ S* V• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;) l* k# u* Y" V% W2 S9 r6 H" ^* K# B
• Current valid drivers license;
( T9 X1 ^6 a! w* o# o• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
6 A' T3 F& i! A3 N9 g' C• Conflict resolution skills;
! c o. e0 f$ t• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;( j4 e2 h9 ?. `! o- W6 o5 L
• Committed and passionate about children;
