To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. . o# l, ^! i3 \- z/ V

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding); ^1 P* p- O1 o( F% V

; v+ T+ t" E" m• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;0 D. U) W- m2 _$ X' A
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
! H# o( ] J/ \2 h• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;* _* |- A5 c$ Z8 O5 B/ @, R
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
: h" ]7 d7 v2 \5 h9 E* ^• Risk Management and succession planning;

• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;: L( u' A0 N: O
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;8 e$ x7 x, j$ y I: q$ O6 ?
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
. D$ z) d0 ~/ Q$ ]9 j1 Y4 C8 b• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities0 G+ H) V2 u4 f q, S
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
2 E7 k; U' H( h9 t' N& j6 R* ]• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;4 R$ Y3 t# a. G# j0 H1 W
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;) e9 p3 h( t' c" t' x
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

• Degree in communications, human services or related field;- ~6 w- o3 r, k, d' @. p
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;. T# f8 @/ Z& [- D% I
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
Z( e7 F: t7 G0 H0 g- L# h w# m4 u• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
0 t; v7 w$ {8 f' I• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.' N+ @0 K# d6 b" l: P: e. o8 Q
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
/ D0 J6 ?* _! d/ j• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
( l8 _5 W# F2 X) r2 V, ^0 e• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;

1 x& e( u7 J. F+ Y4 m1 ]( `• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;' b" B7 E2 J5 L

• Committed and passionate about children;
