To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

1 k& A' {& P+ J: Q& ^This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;- K4 E" T3 \8 y/ _ l3 S
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;3 N- r) f0 h7 o
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; - A3 _3 q3 U) Z! S5 ?
• Risk Management and succession planning;8 Y8 z% F% L, y" o

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
/ m) w" ~5 |+ {/ C6 I8 x U. S• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;2 ~& x7 I6 n& W- d' L# F$ M
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;+ A" ~& F# L' [0 Z+ C5 O
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;; e+ `* w' ]$ I6 d. y
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities* t9 c6 M3 _- O5 N5 a
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;0 J+ Z3 R- l" m
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;: i H6 G. G8 ?: J& ^
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;

• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
) f7 w4 o1 [! ]* @* r% y• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;5 u7 B; O* k+ f) M3 j
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; # w, H, l2 _6 H' b% I/ N0 O
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
; _5 E' K. g6 ^: a0 C5 Q- w• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
+ S5 P7 s d* K4 o1 y7 k1 \• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;- U' p' e' a, d" P! O, U
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
. q9 ^# U, _/ u1 d6 g• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;3 u+ Y, d- \, d9 W5 ` C
• Current valid drivers license; I, d. G* X$ q7 \% h( b
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
* T3 {# b- J- ^5 C4 z1 s• Conflict resolution skills;8 z3 |, U7 a2 m$ v
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;8 D" c; ?* D0 l9 e+ c0 d
• Committed and passionate about children;" F% T1 l* T. `8 A

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
