To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

( `% _( W9 W( i! @- bThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
. A6 y& C% T" P; s# K• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
- v' X* P& D# l/ I$ k5 g- M• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
; ?2 }' R, I* u9 W8 X# W) R• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
& H9 u$ U0 b% D; P0 R' k: n• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: 6 x! C/ ]* H4 M8 ]# C2 s
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;4 W6 L$ X7 U. f1 U9 v4 P
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;; `7 \9 }+ m" q9 U& v+ {% w
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
8 i ^$ T/ f8 ^2 ~3 M* e• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities' y/ H0 m6 w1 a9 f& ~4 k
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
+ O. y: e3 A( R( |. R. Y• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
8 i0 Q0 Q% x/ V7 }0 [• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
& V- |% \% J9 i% l• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:7 c/ C" G8 c- w6 v7 l
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;7 u. |/ x. k1 t/ b, ^+ x% _& t/ |
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
3 P8 T2 G6 V9 `3 G8 k4 z$ u• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
. J$ S$ k. d( l* }0 r$ M• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
1 I$ U- q/ l" G' a• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.. s, J& F2 e3 u. V D
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
: h9 i9 Z8 [- P# E• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred; G* ]: [7 s1 B$ q4 c
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
, {6 Q$ f2 U# T f7 s2 X, G• Current valid drivers license;
+ b- b" Z0 [- }' v• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;8 `) g. Y9 }# _, H I( ^' j
• Conflict resolution skills;# X* a2 ]- \( I. G/ y
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
