Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

$ h4 g! m0 d6 B1 J: K0 ZTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)8 d- z! w- j x/ u
1 O" l6 Z9 y jAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
, T9 b' o* w' _7 x• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;# [% n9 M" |3 L& \6 H
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
5 k( d0 A- i( Q0 q3 F7 `( s• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;5 R7 p. c) _/ n: w1 i5 q
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 2 E& f6 L; }- g, g/ k2 _; O
• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: 2 s' l. F" e1 G$ E7 L* \
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;$ k. }: K9 ~; Z7 l9 y
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
! v% ^- e+ o0 [• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
5 n, e8 [$ G: Q7 C3 E& K/ f4 ]7 W1 m7 w• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities) v% e% T/ J& C4 ]8 X B( M. f
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
" T; o: U3 I) c- {, S+ b1 P• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
$ L6 P$ U9 x6 g5 T0 Z6 n" m• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
% a7 h/ i" S" G. h9 F• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;- c2 z! l* W A% r

Qualifications:
) Y) T& _& h0 \+ T# P• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
) x- P- K; w' G/ D2 d1 x; Z& X: _• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
* ]- [+ S N1 _# ^* W• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; 5 s3 E z( R* F# W: L# U
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;% K4 w! S& x+ w$ u9 I* u
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
8 H2 @3 _6 k! m! J• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;; K4 _4 J% b! n: C6 v# K$ ~
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
2 Z+ f8 c9 v6 l• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;3 @5 z3 \7 @% g3 e& [! j4 J5 ?
• Current valid drivers license;% ?# b* h& B7 q
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;& R+ D. d. K U
• Conflict resolution skills;
