To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. . G u# Q. }9 r7 ^
# [& N0 x6 x' N0 w( FThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)0 R5 g/ u& a* J0 G/ _7 k

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;( x, s; R( \+ |* V- {" D) W
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;% z' p) }+ m% G1 U5 \
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;0 [/ Z' K$ N( b L9 a0 R
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
}& k4 T5 l* T2 P/ ^, Z* p( Z• Risk Management and succession planning;+ e; ^- N# Y) Y* W
+ V; t3 _; T& l9 N. c/ F. nProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:
3 \( v. R# @9 g% @ _# g• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
; N2 |6 W' W7 }9 K+ s p+ t• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;! L! P5 N& O; ]/ Z, o
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
& e i. j, G# G( a, q2 ]7 ^% q: I# ]5 N• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
3 K9 C/ _- X, W) x& n0 K9 S0 R, G• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;) j$ D. s0 M. b" N7 E' c+ W( _# ^3 y
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;4 W5 z: H7 F$ s1 A/ b
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
5 |( n- ?* B$ b8 G+ u' L- z, X• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
: A* K9 q c8 G& L+ Z, h$ `• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;8 e) Z) Z* ]# |4 ^+ y9 G3 Z1 Z
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; , M9 F$ j5 ?, x9 i& @" h# n- ^
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;. t5 \) w" f. y0 e
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
. n* a) C+ e4 E% S1 Q9 [$ s• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;5 N+ N) {; o% G1 s; w
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;* L7 `# N+ m) C2 D& y+ V) B1 Q
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
* Y. A0 v9 B6 u3 t& g; G+ f9 e• Current valid drivers license;
# ^# w8 J; b: J( e- _7 C* ?3 B• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
# X; u, M1 I1 s2 v# K3 o- x• Conflict resolution skills;
: X" v. k, v6 h' y6 M• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;& p; B& R. l; ^+ Z( `$ Q2 ?
• Committed and passionate about children;
