CALGARY — A teen girl was taken to Foothills Hospital in potentially life-threatening condition Monday morning after a head-on collision that involved a "complicated extrication" near Chestermere.7 q9 m1 [- e% Z v& F5 o/ {
4 s( `& p2 B6 ?* p. j( aAt around 8:30 a.m., RCMP, Chestermere fire crews and Calgary EMS personnel were called to Highway 791 just east of Calgary after a pick-up truck and smaller car crashed head-on, said EMS spokesman Stuart Brideaux.

The female driver in her mid-teens, who was the lone occupant of the small car, sustained serious and potentially life-threatening injuries and needed to be extricated from the vehicle by fire crews.: x+ L, ^0 X5 w( Z/ m% S% l
M- H, e e8 p' VSTARS Air Ambulance was called to take the girl to the Foothills Hospital.
