Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
7 s% c! u; r: v% f4 ^# D0 x; y7 }- submit information for community news 9 W/ s5 ?8 @/ R3 i V% _0 `
- provide volunteers to update membership database+ ?# |' a+ u" ~$ ?
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
* r7 Q* h, Y, G+ }" I t- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
0 e; |4 K9 ` G4 B' x& m- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties7 v# I& B0 t% f5 d
- provide volunteers for various programs 2 K' R2 M0 q* Z& w7 e+ ~+ f
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
5 @4 T# N) V7 V: b/ \- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
- F$ _- R) _9 o, j4 a" S* K! D- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities- I6 O6 V' x5 r7 w" c
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
% P+ O% y: H: h8 r# n/ G3 e- Q- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports' T" P$ ^* _! P1 e2 m1 L9 {
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed7 d9 g) V9 f6 H& p) }3 m+ m9 a
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
% Y. p" T A5 \% S- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
/ f/ t w/ |9 f6 I( E% u- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
; H3 z+ J4 Z3 K- Y% @4 ]- development and distribution of a volunteer manual ) z# |" e4 g" l; }& x- T
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers & U: ~+ a- n: s `' P# p* p
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 6 {, e$ m% X' S( V8 w2 ]
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 5 B, _' O8 G& v, \% U
- evaluations
8 Z4 ]: ^+ L4 c" U* T$ h- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

, k' w) b0 b0 s) C' n d- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
2 l- Z; y, o! D v! ^! G" v- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
( O/ H: C2 S: {' D- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services+ y( C& _& |3 F- N( C' h% Q9 H
- leadership skills
' h4 m W( N8 O( `3 h- management and supervision skills2 g' E* G) }/ _
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
