Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- provide volunteers to update membership database( O* b* H. l$ d7 V" c5 G
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers k% y* b4 E/ A E
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
6 C4 Z1 f* {- W7 T( j* u) v! c- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
2 y& [8 g& }. s X- provide volunteers for various programs
" a& h' S2 M! d- V, s7 z5 g- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
9 @, k1 V0 P }( I0 r5 d- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation! i L: H, F7 ^ t& L9 \
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities4 y A, F5 b& G, a1 a2 M
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services/ G6 H* P: e" q* f! D
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports/ k: f8 t+ V9 ^; J1 t/ V0 G1 s
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
- y- K: e. U9 l- {: h- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
- o* E" o* n' @$ E# Z M6 }- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
# [; M0 y0 e2 _5 V4 s/ I: a- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 2 h& j' |! V# F l% R+ B! ]
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
1 \" m+ I7 ~- L% e6 Q- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers % q4 h, N3 U, U+ T
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers - d! x: _1 l+ ?' G* }
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
8 U- o: N8 ]7 f- z6 \" o- evaluations ; c3 `$ f0 B: x2 j2 S2 x7 _6 s1 b! [
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre7 v q4 l5 c) L4 ?

Qualifications; Z2 _( X7 x1 x
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
8 ~; g7 D/ h+ n8 N# a9 W- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
. M3 L0 T4 `. Z9 }( z) M% C- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
) e3 `: o4 C* L# Q9 ^& v& H2 |- i- leadership skills8 W$ a8 ^- c# q: s) s. G
- management and supervision skills
; M# w" }4 J6 ?- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills3 u1 B4 w4 R! g, t1 Z
