Key Responsibilities

- provide volunteers to update membership database( z" f' X) P1 l, S- V4 l9 N
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers3 [: H" Z0 E0 M* r5 d/ v- b. u
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
+ i5 ]8 [! L' y- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
" X9 P8 M* b" }4 X l5 n8 g- provide volunteers for various programs
" L; _/ f9 f5 f7 X) y0 A- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
# A& { P) ^0 X+ [# X- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
- K- C* M/ P& K/ _3 B# p1 y- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities& f( g. X1 x. o3 j" [% L4 X. L9 ]0 O
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
1 T* K& o& D9 P# [+ }! U d- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports: R. ]6 i* M/ ^6 Z9 u/ i P/ U
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
4 f* ^! |; b: S; N* P- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
7 J; L3 }& l3 a' ~% b4 f- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
0 t6 C7 y: \1 J _0 \: w/ [: O- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 7 o V# J/ @! U; @. a% d" u
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
0 B4 y: F6 u2 Y- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers ~5 I* ]# A) |4 B9 W" X
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers . Q1 {/ r; _3 ^) q. g. x
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
4 Q5 ^2 q6 O" c* j9 {4 g- evaluations ; Y5 A* P0 X _! |2 {' ?5 R
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications
6 A7 t; W1 ?8 O- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education: I7 g" V0 F3 _, S# G( v5 e
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
z+ G: I1 y8 O* c, b- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services5 e2 Z, m' c: M4 i* f1 w" L+ L6 s
- leadership skills! B9 @* p4 I9 r b4 T5 ]+ i
- management and supervision skills5 f% ~$ S) \, Z9 S" z
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
