Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week

- submit information for community news
# \( [- q* c, x- provide volunteers to update membership database
4 V6 Z* M) X W/ G" |- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
' i* K# t- H3 e" |6 T2 v/ d( m, c- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties. v8 H) ]* d. n
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties! ^8 `! l3 D4 x# N
- provide volunteers for various programs
. S5 H/ \9 F4 A1 c9 B- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
: @ P+ j F( R; H2 k* E- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
6 X. n: ^! X# o$ g, z- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
9 u- k, t) r6 a4 V+ M) n0 V) ]- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services

- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed: s5 h* h. I" N) Z
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed' M6 v& P8 m8 ^3 }& ^
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
0 b- B6 w: C" O- A7 w- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events " Y/ f' W- I; n0 h* v
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
* |: G& t7 d, S- T, A, t3 K. m- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers * q8 q2 C; u3 k3 ?
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 6 o3 D5 u" ~- {7 S6 [3 ?2 L
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education, Q7 y3 a. B& \! S8 {; X
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
8 F% C L8 B- A. q- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services% X# F- k5 |/ Z( K4 n
- leadership skills
. c* h( a6 Z: y W- management and supervision skills7 [2 Y9 x2 U, h4 N G7 @
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
