Position Title: Community Development Worker ; C1 C4 m' L7 G0 i% O, n( q0 z
Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week

- O& l' a, |$ x2 z- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
& F- Z' O, Y6 v" X- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services G0 D% B& m. T2 P0 |
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
2 n$ E- ^, H1 M9 @' V) m9 t- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies. i* j; _# i7 D& z5 B: q8 B3 }. P
- coordinate good will activities: N" n+ \* _% R
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members
, d" ?) G0 O; c$ A+ a# b- submit information for community news 0 p5 f5 @4 a2 `1 k' M5 T
- prepare and send AGM information to members
( A- y1 K) `. ]9 K8 D- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.% m. w( k# f2 i, B
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities( Q6 H6 Q" R# m1 T0 m0 ^6 f
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre* }' F+ {# A3 m0 P
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

$ E" A5 Y8 J! Z. b- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- hold regular meetings with ISP team- P3 R) }' O2 C
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time; k+ i# f3 \; {
- update membership database

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
- L( F4 n A) W. D% W; @/ Z- report to Settlement Services Manager

Qualifications
R/ U$ y# n5 J! g. B- degree in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education 7 G$ q$ p( r. u* ~% {
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills) c2 [& x: f, @% l- e. r
- experience in community work and immigrant services
/ w) ?3 w3 E R0 U! F, [6 U- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
. I2 r$ ?" O$ V! h3 [- leadership skills
* {- n8 W/ | h& I8 ?& N9 t; _- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills5 O9 ^5 S( a9 t; z0 |) w
- sense of humor
