Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Position Summary:
% N4 Z; {: l2 e$ t6 XWithin the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:) _. v% d+ @% O+ ]6 U( T8 e" ^
• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
# H5 l1 s9 Y9 C• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST( O+ X, y* a1 F! D
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
( H+ B% v5 T' t% L8 K$ M) u• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter9 h' d) E! @7 w3 ?0 O; u
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents. _5 Y. Y% P5 v
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
* d& t% @; B# f6 h0 k• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events1 n% o* C1 ?2 `) o4 j4 n7 X1 E/ I4 Q) |
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events E6 Z7 z5 v1 Y" @0 n/ R) F) _
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean B8 F2 r/ B% m/ b* z
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

• Perform general office duties as assigned

q; s7 ?& z% z+ k• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
+ ~7 z/ i7 N: C! [' t& U2 v/ e• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
% s& V2 P/ v7 e, R• Good English writing and oral communication skills
" V! E& ]' i" p4 ]( _- Z( I7 @• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
6 g% r5 {6 G) b% h• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook# @1 T, Q; o; [- j5 ~; [/ Z
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately ) P% x: ?( F7 v6 C) u, w7 u
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds0 _( n ]8 X5 z# g. Y+ [3 d2 |
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment i7 ]6 o3 |5 F) X: M
• Knowledge of immigrant services' L/ J0 L6 Q3 R$ y/ Y

' d6 Q7 I1 V7 ?1 U5 p p• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
1 Q/ P# N8 P8 b• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment" `0 r0 v: s! d* n% O7 ]
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
2 t) t. L9 T8 f8 L7 L4 G+ r2 o• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
