within a body that boasts revolutionary technological advances. The 3D color

! S+ t+ c4 Y# ~$ e; Vin low light are just a few features that are glaring improvements. The D800
, F6 ?# x2 ?3 c2 O0 W+ h* rallows me to concentrate on the light, the composition and my subject
1 W# g) F* G6 Z& Z6 G }without having to think about much else. In years past, wedding photography
7 C7 t5 Q9 x" H" Y* Awas traditionally captured with medium-format equipment for maximum
. `) j% l2 {. ~5 `4 u) iimage quality. When the 35mm format was adopted within the genre, it was

* V+ D& F* r' h4 a7 kconvenience. Now, my wedding portraiture will have a depth it’s never shown l: w9 o Z! L# t. u5 M
before, and my style of shooting will be enhanced rather than compromised,& J1 f, N: v& n3 A, y1 F
thanks to the D800.
& `7 h! z$ h" ]When I’m shooting beauty and jewelry in the studio or fashion on location,
% _: j h- f0 L7 c( n& V* k. L36.3 megapixels changes the industry standard: in image quality, dynamic. K* C4 V, U6 G9 _- k( ]
range, color rendering and the final print. The detail from the D800 produces8 L& s; T2 P# J- p% x9 G! X
the look of a medium-format camera, but gives me the feel and response of a
! u B" ^$ K9 h" q' F+ v( cD-SLR. The improvements in rendering skin tone and specular highlights, as
# D" V) ^7 e% ^* twell as fabric and hair detail are superior to anything that has come before.
6 P! F m5 n4 v5 IAutofocus quickly tracks models in motion. Nikon’s 91K-pixel RGB sensor% ]' z( x" X: v& \
has noticeable improvements in metering accuracy, while the larger LCD is0 k; e- J0 D, n1 f7 W/ l, u
easier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while* k/ s* o3 C/ o1 G+ o
also feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New
" M* A% M- W/ c3 c- Z9 `cameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features
X) r$ N5 X! `4 }2 ?9 @in such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality) q: e* }0 S$ r. }+ o: R8 v& [
prints and video.
1 e5 F" M5 j) YTo me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is
6 i: Q5 y3 S' d; unot megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models. H- p) y) y( `; E, ~) } V9 c3 o
are important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using
+ y! @3 Y' G6 l6 y" }4 N3 V* Scountless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first

5 y' O/ _. N2 m, ^2 r8 ^; ^compact and reliable camera system fulfilling the requirements of my personal+ g; O g0 }5 k. K( p6 ~; g
artistic and client expectations. The Nikon D800 will set new standards for

architectural photography. From my hands-on experience I found that they
