megapixels, the D800 produces unprecedented image quality and resolution

matrix metering III, wide dynamic range and the improved AF performance! q) ]; \- J7 M& N$ D! k0 j; O4 \
in low light are just a few features that are glaring improvements. The D800
8 p/ X7 L) K `7 Ballows me to concentrate on the light, the composition and my subject
& R+ a9 J" l3 Lwithout having to think about much else. In years past, wedding photography
+ c$ X ^9 }1 _' n9 X! T4 twas traditionally captured with medium-format equipment for maximum
5 X6 m1 D" d" g+ }image quality. When the 35mm format was adopted within the genre, it was9 Q9 o- ]7 l( H u5 @
widely accepted that image quality was compromised in lieu of speed and
# h! f* a" n9 [2 Dconvenience. Now, my wedding portraiture will have a depth it’s never shown
- L; K* U# v* J# C/ l% fbefore, and my style of shooting will be enhanced rather than compromised,

When I’m shooting beauty and jewelry in the studio or fashion on location,
5 v, v0 ^$ g N! ]$ ]36.3 megapixels changes the industry standard: in image quality, dynamic+ c7 U8 b! G9 v
range, color rendering and the final print. The detail from the D800 produces
; S) F1 g, U8 tthe look of a medium-format camera, but gives me the feel and response of a' ~1 I' n& F* N+ a8 p) ^
D-SLR. The improvements in rendering skin tone and specular highlights, as" w% T! o# K! G$ `) @# P2 s
well as fabric and hair detail are superior to anything that has come before.
6 z, y7 }6 o$ a% D# N! ^% I+ CAutofocus quickly tracks models in motion. Nikon’s 91K-pixel RGB sensor5 H2 S' H- O1 v: ?0 d" w2 K
has noticeable improvements in metering accuracy, while the larger LCD is$ ?# |' x; \, Y* D* Y2 f
easier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while0 }9 {1 S# I' k, n5 [9 f4 z* u+ X2 y
also feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New/ k {; A7 ~) U
cameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features, U% N9 m8 J! m8 z; ^
in such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality
$ r: H& Q& l8 q( _/ [& G; uprints and video.
( @; ?# R) A' y9 P1 q9 q. x/ sTo me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is
& {9 [0 L: g$ Z. K: F: S5 pnot megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models
! l- G* ?1 W( q& _are important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using* t, q9 H/ \3 ^( @/ y
countless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first
( p6 D/ s( L8 i' wsight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws
3 j* f+ B7 R& h5 U2 q5 alike never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of
' e3 N. O- O" b- o; pacuity between aperture choices on various lenses were apparent. But now I
* N" f5 a# D2 n A2 h- ram enthralled with this technology. Why? Because the images almost feel as
0 V v0 l! C! A8 xthough they were made with a 4x5 view camera! Special features like timelapse

' b; [. J7 b9 f# vtremendously to the camera’s personality. After spending a month with the
* c8 [+ q" i) B/ J" ?( h6 OD800, I’ll never be the same again. Perhaps the best compliment I can express

As a modern architectural photographer I am always looking for a lightweight,! e3 ~( [( V/ k5 k
compact and reliable camera system fulfilling the requirements of my personal/ `# L2 x' [( w7 [4 Q6 i
artistic and client expectations. The Nikon D800 will set new standards for( \3 y; r0 G0 g* T

architectural photography. From my hands-on experience I found that they
# I1 T' A" s5 x( A; F9 F( \9 S, lperfectly match with the newly invented system and produce breathtakingly" x& S$ H! f0 V& K7 Z) H, S
clean, clear and sharp files. This camera gives me the photographic flexibility/ v3 T, ^) Q+ O \
to work at unusual shooting locations and capture images in an exceptional
