Senior C#.net / SQL consultant. 1yr contract starting April 2nd, 2012.

In general, key aspects of the role are:
, C/ g& j; \! H' }-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
technology;
-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
5 ~4 N# j) g; R5 A-        Participate in peer reviews;
4 d- ?8 I2 `2 k% P6 G-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
-        Programming planned enhancements;
-        Testing system changes;
, c9 \. Q% c6 p7 M8 c0 h-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
3 z. G3 f" r# q# l3 Fdepartment’s change management processes;
; c# |8 C) B7 i  P6 l-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
$ n' a" [  D" Z5 c+ m- J-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
. s5 v  N7 i( X" M8 n-        Lead short term projects;
-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
-        Excellent written communication skills;
-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure
. ?" N- w% o3 x! veffective delivery of service; and
-        Understanding of project management.

A. Mandatory Requirements
(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
/ {0 @+ P$ a7 R5 bfor incorporating new technology.

(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)
! t0 U+ V7 |; l# b0 o
(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).

+ U, {& R) J) V/ M  M(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.

8 e% X& t6 {5 a/ z2 W8 M# `% I(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers

(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

(g) Project experience with formal development methodology.

(h) Experience with one or more of the following tools:
- Infragistics controls

  j1 l, @0 [9 R0 x1 N) R+ G5 I! j- Crystal Reports
- Pdflib

. a$ h& f# M) M4 T) [* W(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
' Z! l. O* z" @) V- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
/ H% f% c' w& ?/ _9 _+ \' x+ [- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
