% m' h& P  J; dIn general, key aspects of the role are:
-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
# b5 }7 E* L. R* k' I1 i; Xtechnology;
-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
-        Participate in peer reviews;
-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
7 e9 u! I( S' C2 i& ^-        Programming planned enhancements;
( I7 _* n& _3 j3 I- F$ D-        Testing system changes;
-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
; C8 u1 o8 b: c/ h: ~) ?! Qdepartment’s change management processes;
-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
-        Lead short term projects;
-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;

: j* t& D: D6 \" J. r-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure
effective delivery of service; and
-        Understanding of project management.

A. Mandatory Requirements
(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
for incorporating new technology.

(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)

3 v( r# J* w* @7 \8 i7 i$ {(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).

9 Q+ _& J/ F" S! y(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.

(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers

" A' S/ {2 ]+ ^! G( ?4 O4 n+ H(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

( Z, [2 {$ p" w' d: B(g) Project experience with formal development methodology.

(h) Experience with one or more of the following tools:
- Infragistics controls
1 R" Y1 Q6 [8 p- z' j8 D- IBatis.NET, or MyBatis.NET
- Nunit

- Pdflib
- Microsoft Project Portfolio Server

& I! a% `7 I& M(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
  e+ {3 N6 f, ~- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
3 j- S8 L. p5 C8 C$ d# @# `- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
+ l7 M7 N8 ]8 U. d- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
