• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
) J7 h! a T S; m• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
+ a. k6 l1 W% u& ]3 e9 d+ q6 G9 b4 `• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers( T" x' r; W; D- e
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
) Z5 a5 N9 l! L/ M• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place! r6 ?2 S+ L# H$ j7 {9 n
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment$ G- V1 w2 j' t7 H9 h9 W( o
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools. |+ p) ^. Q4 F d+ Q* H, y
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
$ h0 j. S3 z1 b, e' u9 q• Mix paint, blend and match colors, X u6 f8 |0 _5 Y6 q
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
0 e0 g( f# d6 w" L& m$ }9 A- S8 c• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs

• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program - Z' h. C, l: {6 b

A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade u6 f$ Y; J+ x/ a% p Q9 F
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
