• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed! y0 F' q( S! R
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components6 R# E0 \& o1 X) I
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
2 S/ y5 X' E1 @1 _• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams8 u6 v1 d Y, a4 j* v
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
: v' g3 g: I' D) }6 u• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
4 m' E9 ]/ u. I; `, g5 b+ h1 {8 z• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools

• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
: S$ u0 Y6 z) `+ k- ^9 l• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation
$ l' c1 R% J) V& {! a• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

• Completion of secondary school is required" S. V& ` K3 E+ b( u
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program 2 s& N1 q6 M2 @9 B
or
3 q: H L7 ^- K! UA combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade % O4 z( b6 O; X& _( W8 h A/ X
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory . o l, d8 h2 m' W
