+ U: P( Q- t* S$ hYWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties. 9 y! U6 H& {8 W3 ?; }
Job Responsibilities:

Payroll:! U/ a' q' K4 _" r7 I) E$ q/ M
• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
) P3 i3 N$ n i7 k• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
/ m5 q* ~9 s5 T; S" k0 @+ Z• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
5 I5 r. P9 ^/ Y' _+ E/ g• Input benefit deductions into payroll

Reporting duties:( Q* w2 W9 i2 ]+ k% J ]
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
: M. _" n9 F& u• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website5 `) l# L/ Q- g% S
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
# Q$ D6 P1 Q9 m; p* L$ r• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority0 b" t! E5 Y' z% e
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations& X4 f: {" Z' A- }6 X: i
2 u5 A& q' V& Y6 BCompliance:
3 {* u8 X! D+ y3 Q' x• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll ! ]& [9 c! E7 j, t$ a
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll." Z, L M6 m; Y3 O' O- e: z) E) D
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
. c1 g# E' K9 _; J0 n1 g9 i• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting4 p9 L) q a2 r' H( w# Y3 H! k
2 x' Y# v5 h+ PAccounts Receivable:
% I8 a8 H ~( E& T• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit Z2 H" O h+ V" a, e. }1 K3 w
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department# |) C5 A. q$ V* s a# e
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments
& s+ ? t/ @: _# F7 S• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

7 v) L# ? r* T1 u" \Qualifications:

- o- \. c9 a! P" ]; P. K* ?4 \• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP4 _% f0 c1 v Y! m+ D
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
( v* @/ A$ f! h6 m8 X% G: K2 F/ M5 Y• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
/ _) G# A& S' ?. O @2 ?* f9 L• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
5 \$ Q Z7 E# O& L• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work& p" P+ V7 I+ }. H+ ^: H
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
