Job Responsibilities:

• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired3 U8 c* A0 x* Y& v5 z& L! K: N, y! W
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll: }- _5 l; R- H/ m. E
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
; u- z5 o! M! D9 F% t x" V• Input benefit deductions into payroll

Reporting duties:
. O: S' A* ~) w/ @• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider* G t* t) R- p
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website6 I _; F) r, e- B3 I
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
4 h/ o; K! E+ ]) v• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority
) c# d4 [- _1 r3 Y5 H0 ]" b• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

% S3 c6 V' Z; k- m• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
. R# |1 {4 T) l! `6 I/ |• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.! n; I n1 ^' G. `
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies0 X, l- p2 t& K, |- G* e
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting; t" Y3 x9 M0 m% z, t

Accounts Receivable:" u$ ]/ M- l: E7 j3 x+ I; H, d
• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
, B1 T1 b+ B+ M# Y• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department) E& @0 r# `5 _3 a" S) M
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments

Qualifications:

! Q# W7 k4 |% V8 @* M0 _% f• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP( r: n2 K0 Y* C* D
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association( j/ W4 p8 |, Y2 o/ u4 v! F
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
# D- ~5 L2 l8 D* _• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office

• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure7 M. \6 |+ M* |! v
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
