Lace up your skates and have some fun at the arena.  If you enjoy skating and working with the public, you can make this an enjoyable experience for the public in your spare time.  We are currently recruiting Skate Monitors for our public skating and shinny hockey programs.  Duties may include:

) S" \* o( ^+ r8 [7 `•        Supervising public skating and shinny hockey as scheduled
4 N9 l9 E/ M0 }& q8 u/ z•        Assisting, directing and providing information to the public regarding arena programs
•        Tracking program attendance
•        Advising participants of safety requirements
•        Following and enforcing all rules and requirements, as identified by the Coordinator, to ensure customer safety

Qualifications:
! J: a4 I& g$ w" R9 Q
. P! c# L' k8 @$ Y1 j3 P" X•        Minimum of 15 (Fifteen) years of age
•        Skating ability and possession of own skates
•        Experience working with the general public including children
•        Strong interpersonal communication skills
1 C. E2 `9 l  l2 f$ q2 C" q•        First Aid and CPR certifications would be considered an asset

•        Applicants may be tested
# N2 i3 l5 {- k# [; s+ k: R3 G•        An original Police Information Check or Certified Criminal Record Check issued within the past 6 months that is satisfactory to the employer will be required before starting in the position.  The new hire will be required to obtain this check from Edmonton Police Services or a local RCMP detachment. Please note, this may take up to 3 weeks to process

Hours of Work: Up to 25 hours per week
