4 [+ M% o$ M- Y9 x7 V1 RYOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and
Advocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
8 i" c2 R) H8 j: i( f( B# ^nine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
peacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
- J0 O' H# J) x+ E0 }The YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded

project that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
; x8 F$ E1 T8 D0 v% c0 _& jemployability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
The goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
$ g' S* R! T. Sthe skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
2 Z( J' e) q0 c: [; L* \4 b. tparticipants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
personal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
Additionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
follow-up once the program is completed.

! t& a* B% t: iVerto project will run from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the
% S; H; m1 b  `" I3 PYOUCAN office, located at 11124-130 St. (Westmount Jr. High School) in Edmonton, Alberta.
