In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.

SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.

• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
5 H& P U7 I1 v2 T0 p- r3 t" q' m• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
" E G" ~ W. y• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
9 d+ e* l. g, @) m6 J• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs

• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada _9 J, W7 y- j& \
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) ) Q- M# A: W* D( j( F* l N
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
' t4 k* R( D2 @4 q# _. R• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
! ~% }. X3 ^( r- l0 S. A( U• Working with evaluation and management information systems team 5 C. s( s8 w+ I! @8 u) l
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
8 J& |9 I, C' C$ p• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
" w' @% T+ t0 p& ~) I• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting ( H: M- x7 b8 f2 u( s* Z7 X
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
, g x+ c( }2 c) o$ `/ ~• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning : ? l3 w: S/ X, X3 Z B
Primary Qualifications:
/ K) W; q( h) O/ d) i• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
7 p2 G0 u- ^/ Y, J8 H8 K& M2 z• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
. H# K/ x; ]2 u: c2 t• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
' T9 A% `- A* b• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities 1 A$ v* o1 `4 I+ T: D5 |7 ?5 k
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams

• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them + l3 ]* O3 p7 r% |$ Q% x# A! v
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc

• Content / curriculum development experience 5 P3 ?. E% \+ v
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners % O' i6 S6 z; T7 p

• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. / ^4 {- |8 {; k+ }! w& X
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset 9 {3 i6 o) h; Z! I7 C1 T2 z
• Policy research skill set is an asset
