In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.

7 [9 j8 l5 N6 f) _6 oSEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. $ p; a" j9 E. f8 O1 B- H* a1 C
SEDI is staffed to: 7 l; y4 N) P9 e/ N% ^1 v5 U
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research t; T# Z. L) q1 P- k
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners ; g! G3 F: f( T) p) ?& M5 C
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
, |9 C# ?1 b" v8 W w/ e• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs 8 s; B3 y8 Z! |$ i
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits & t m8 w( }5 [/ d: Z9 b
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses : w" P7 ~ \0 e) q/ H
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada
1 g' z& y! P8 w( f1 _2 |Primary Responsibilities and Activities: ' Q! I6 v% L# T* ~* I
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada 6 O( R) X r4 y6 j$ p
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) v1 [# M x9 Y% U
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
& e, i/ H3 y7 F( T8 }8 R• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
! T4 ?! _' a4 c3 R4 _6 R• Working with evaluation and management information systems team 6 t- B. `0 Y# d: O
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required 8 V* `" D/ Q6 N; I5 ]

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies + P0 ~7 x A! m2 A
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners & u3 n2 ^$ L) c u
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting . h( t2 w& ?2 L/ @
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports 3 V7 d" ^) |! V3 {- o! S
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience ; r' n% o+ x7 n U) Q8 x1 ?2 ^
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media * C% A; |) }1 c6 ]2 J5 ^( }
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training 2 ^3 [0 w7 F0 R8 B, u. _8 o
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities

• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
& v% v5 p6 |8 O8 f& u! C! g" Q• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc
% q0 s# F& Q1 J& ?• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education ' n V) _, j) Z; U7 S
• Content / curriculum development experience 5 s9 a& x$ W5 ?! Y z& J4 j
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners
$ f3 y A5 P# Z V- V0 Q• Excellent organizational skills
( D4 J8 Z3 H$ d K2 w• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.
