2 u$ Y; m' Q+ R9 o2 uSEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. g! f* c# [+ e m
SEDI is staffed to:
5 x& z# y6 G& [• conduct socio-economic market and policy research $ }6 j+ h8 W. k2 U
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
4 X. E& K% p' |6 n6 A% r• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation . P9 Z2 g( L4 m
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
* l; e# Y; C1 n5 g; c/ _• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits 6 H* _8 A' j2 N7 n! H
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses & [- {. n/ r# s# V
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada 6 i1 D5 n) A4 }. G, }8 k6 c9 s
Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
! d) n( m2 G# |6 N8 y. a, E• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada 0 B5 _! M2 t$ ^1 M
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) ! ]% H, V" p# q- _$ q0 C+ h
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
/ J. }* u$ N& Z8 W• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities ' D' p- T$ o$ L% n3 |6 T% U4 B. B
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
; m# ]/ w F3 O! P8 F1 H• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required
+ G6 ~; P- k1 J- DOther Activities:
, y a/ y5 I/ |$ W- ^: D3 f8 C• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies 7 g* \7 F3 N2 w* T/ c! Y
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners ' v9 ]: l# Z6 w( k
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
+ t, y6 m) }+ I9 P r- \2 ^4 t• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
% I. Z* x5 `1 d. T; ~• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning 5 Y+ x" J2 \ `! s' A
Primary Qualifications:
) \5 _+ `% m( M: ?3 b( Z• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
/ G" h7 v1 a9 ~ |• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
6 Z: L4 y. l5 j0 ?6 G• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
/ H/ ]% Y" x( ~• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
. E6 W" e" Y }! A1 l& O" d5 G ^• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams + F% k6 y4 p' Q; X, X5 A+ C
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals 9 j" W' P: x# X, n+ P0 b. z2 e* ~5 n
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
+ t8 }3 n8 h- Q) z• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
2 V5 m$ Z3 t7 P" w5 I7 i• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc ) v" |. J) G# O. m$ p2 n
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
/ s5 V) j3 }! P" s• Content / curriculum development experience ' P8 j! A: n! r* I
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners ( p3 ]$ Y Q8 G+ ]; [
• Excellent organizational skills

• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
