Position: Outreach Worker

Job Description& B& V, C& ]' ]% r
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
) b) ]2 |8 A" S' V' M8 l) n4 z1 k- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.3 o% i- L" f+ @1 `( I% T1 E9 t+ {
- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
4 T' u1 a4 ]+ h2 A- provide support to ISP staff+ \$ {& z f$ C* B8 C
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members S1 m5 V6 ]. M
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
$ R; G' u1 x0 z: R- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated# F$ ~: o! e% t' O* ~. I
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
+ j& G: A/ a' G1 F% v- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals0 {* r% f, B7 V5 E5 @) ^
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder( v' t/ m* n' }( J$ X4 s
- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.! @" |2 Z% j! q% O9 i5 R+ x
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities& {3 K/ G5 G0 Y6 f' q5 E- ?/ _
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned

Qualifications
1 r6 w1 r% |! D- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered$ K3 o9 K* f' I% H# n% ^$ O
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available7 Z; c/ S, K0 q Y0 C3 F' I
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers& X* ]! e; m, l# R& t
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
) L8 y5 K7 v5 ?6 U- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)

- good organizational and coordination skills$ |+ k, j0 v/ }! x8 W
- valid driver’s license
