Employment Developer

 Maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for clients.

 Provide ongoing positive encouragement and support to clients accessing the Resource Centre.

 Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.
3 i3 c* H( H: V, r; d" r Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.

 Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.% \3 q) H' @, d
 Support newcomers participation in the settlement program.# _! n  g2 v+ D2 F" l; e9 Y
 Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.

 Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
, |* n1 g# M; J8 T6 E Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.7 X: S% e! o2 }  u( O* n# l2 M& N% d
 Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.
: K# K& ~+ I( n  h% k6 P Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements.

 Attend multi-agency and multidisciplinary meetings, as required

! f' ]$ {# o" j! g6 C Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.
: n$ ~' s% ?; o# h/ T1 F% ` Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.: x  i, w# j" X) B. m. x
 Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.% g) _6 h' R4 q% h0 k: Q7 x9 r
 Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.
6 u. R+ y; Y  d: {3 Y, Z( z Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.

 Interact with participants on a continuous basis so that the Service Plan progress can be monitored throughout the program and into the follow up period

 Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment
7 u5 T& l& v2 E" V; W+ N. p$ } Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada
  M# D# z* R: I Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants
$ L) A  h( v1 h2 e Complete participant reviews with the participants1 t- q9 @$ z+ u" `
 Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion
