Alberta College is governed by an independent Board of Governors

1903, Alberta College predates both the City of Edmonton and the
# y! r/ M/ h) r2 T0 v: _Province of Alberta. It was founded by concerned citizens as the * d7 z. M! `5 _! G0 y
first post-secondary school in the area, on land bequeathed by * _- ~( o% c; _' g) T
pioneer George McDougall for educational purposes. The College
% A* h! i" p2 ]initially had three departments: academics, commerce and music,

transfer to McGill University.
