' C5 g5 f4 k# _8 B- s0 kDevelops and updates the graphic user interface including program interface (menus, dialogue boxes, file editing, etc.) using C++ or Java or other languages to allow users to compose run scripts and edit input files for a FORTRAN model
6 R+ L# Y) R4 g4 EGenerates dynamic visualization of numerical output from the model using VTK or other visualization tools, linked to explanatory documents! J- U$ K* {9 s& d# G
Works with staff in the MACI to determine ways to deal with the data and find innovative approaches of presenting results' c4 H7 a x# h; ]2 V
Implements interface and visualization on portable media (CD and website) for use in research and teaching; implements the mathematical model "ecosy" in parallel mode on computing facilities available, y6 E* _1 I7 ?# Z( |
Provides technical support to teaching initiatives at undergraduate and postgraduate levels using the mathematical model with the graphic user interface

B.Sc. in Computing Science with specialization in interface development% f! w4 ?: O' _) B/ {8 I' X
Related experience with interface development; interest in terrestrial ecology and global climate change an asset( h5 V. \2 S8 m! q! A- w
Programming in C++ and Unix, website development and maintenance% J1 d; e3 Z# |1 t9 E+ h& v
