Beginning in 1995, ETIP:

What is the practice?

experience and competency-based training, such as applied academics or* \) e5 |6 D( r7 P
English as a Second Language.

required for the Alberta workplace. Training includes:

• engineering-related training delivered at NAIT:, e! s/ t$ X9 @0 k* }( O

• first-aid training, and

What is the evidence of success?
, a" D) \1 I0 ], l8 g. P$ L/ a0 N, l/ g- NAs of 2003, more than 80% of ETIP graduates over the past six years have
6 I& ^7 g/ M7 _1 m* \( | Jfound engineering or engineering technologist employment in Alberta.: J' n9 g. y% ^' b
In 2004, 46 engineers graduated from the ETIP program. At the time of
5 z3 \1 X1 }9 L# Pgraduation, almost half had secured employment in the engineering industry,
% N& W/ j5 G, W! s1 awith over 90% employed at three months post-graduation.: J Y' g. V$ V( J- a$ p
