Do you have a keen interest and/or experience in engaging the community in the topic of healthy aging and health promotion for older adults? The Community Services Department is seeking 2 Aging In Place Coordinators to join their team for a pilot project. These Coordinators are responsible for the development and delivery of two "Aging in Place" pilot projects in the South East and Millwoods areas of Edmonton and will also be required to assist with the project evaluation. The projects will focus on extending and developing innovative community based approaches which support older seniors to continue living in their homes. If you have strong coordination and interpersonal communication skills, the ability to identify the needs of seniors living independently, and the desire to connect seniors with the resources they need to improve their quality of life providing continued independence we want to hear from you!

• Facilitates and provides community support, organizational development and program services to seniors
8 {& ^" O* S/ y3 o6 r, A# O6 A6 K• Develops and coordinates initiatives based on demographics, community consultation, and best practice research

• Facilitating, developing, implementing and evaluating strategies to encourage community engagement, and the support from neighbours and volunteers( s5 W3 M6 V6 }8 f! G
• Researching, maintaining, and developing a database of resource information relating to services for seniors in Southeast and Millwoods areas of Edmonton

• Providing regular updates/reports to supervisor, working committee and strategic advisory group

2 D0 L! }7 C( f# x, l, Y3 I: C• Developing resource materials and delivering public education workshops related to the needs of seniors, needs of immigrant seniors, and volunteer management
0 J5 K0 Q5 U. ~: k, D: b4 E• Coordinate the completion of a final report which includes performance outcomes, effectiveness of specific initiatives to support seniors to age in place, feedback from seniors and community members, outcomes from the community engagement model and future recommendations. • Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Administration, Social Work, or related degree& {, a* w5 A; t4 ~* Z5 h- D0 M, H5 N
• A minimum of three years of progressive experience in community development with demonstrated competency in community/organizational development and program development
" U% S( R) ?8 @6 Y ]' @• Training and/or experience in volunteer management, strategic planning, project management, and needs assessment and evaluation- J( l+ w+ Q. ]0 b- B
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team with community and multicultural groups and all stakeholders8 K8 U- _$ F& \% @4 t! N% @
• Interest, knowledge, and experience in community development, healthy aging and health promotion for older adults x1 K4 Z1 k! Y
• Ability to work independently with demonstrated problem solving, conflict management skills, and analytical abilities

• Possession of a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Operators license (or operators licensing equivalent recognized by the Operators Licensing and Vehicle Control Regulation, Alta.Reg.320/2002) and eligibility to obtain a City drivers permit

Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week

Salary Range: 21M, Salary Grade: 019, $29.808 - $37.467 (Hourly), $2,012.04 - $2,529.02 (Biweekly), $52,514.240 - $66,007.490 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.1 m3 f1 [9 B) L' O# X2 h# v& H* z
